Well I finally was able to acquire one of the pam 005k from a member on the forum here, and it should be here tomorrow and I cannot wait! Im hearing some mixed reviews about the movement though. Is it really that bad? and should I expect it to crap out on me fairly quick? If so, what are my alternatives and options to fix or replace the movement? If it needs to be fixed or replaced, is there anyone in the CONUS I can send it to to have this done? Thanks!

Just sold one on RG. I have no problem with all my lowbeat movement. It should last for awhile.

That factory is know for a bunch of great things, but also for their bad movements and poor QC.

I own a 005k, and I'm planning on swapping the movement as soon as I can find the time. The alternatives are either a Seagull ST36, or a Swiss 6497.

In the US you can contact either G. or Katt. They're both great watchsmiths.

Thanks for the info. Do you happen to have a source on where to get one of those better movements? I really dont care what the movement looks like since the 005 is a closed case back, I just need it to be reliable. I might just go ahead and buy a new movement in case the stock one fails.

Get the ST36 from " Getat " or " jacksons " .

So are any other mods necessary in switching to either of these movements? Will it just be a movement swap then to get the new ST36 or Swiss 6497 in or will other modifications be necessary as well? Thanks!

It should be a perfect swap.
