PAM 005 Noob Case Quality?

I've recently bought a PAM 005 Noob from a TD. It met all of my expections, until yesterday when I was about to replace the straps. As I removed the strap that came with the watch, I noticed a fair amount of drag lines along the inner sides of the lugs. It seemed like when the casing were manufactured, that particular area weren't sanded or finished good enough before it went for chroming or polishing. It didn't bug me at first but now I keep seeing it through the reflection on the big flat shine surface between the lugs.

My question is, is this defect common among Noob cases? If it is not common, can I get it replaced by the TD eventhough I've had the watch for 2 weeks now? And if the TD refuses to compensate for such defects, is there anything that I can do to remove the defect? I would even consider sending it to somebody who can fix it. Hope somebody can share their experience with the Noob PAMs as well. Thanks!

I doubt a TD would consider this as a return or repair scenario. I believe there are some mod-ders that could fix this. One would have to be adept at machining and polishing in small spaces, like on the inside of lugs etc. My favorite for case mods is PBdad. He's in the CONUS (CA). He does amazing work. I hope this helps!

Wow, that's not as bad as I imagined. (Nice watch.) Are you handy with polishing stuff? You could try "Cape Cod Cloths" for polishing metal. They make a version for deep scratches that worked really well for my restorations. Just a thought since your scratches don't look too terrible IMO.

Some people are too picky. I'm surprised you don't have the bezel guard on it so it never gets scratched or anything. Just wear it and love it. It's watch, it's gonna get scratched etc.

Thanks NL and civic! I'll give Cape Cod a try.

If it doesn't work, I guess I'll need to invest in a dremel.

Thanks for the advice guys!

Yup, it is the same as on mine ;-) Doesn't bother me though (and I thought I was a nitpicker, lol). Good luck with the polish job mate! ;-)

PS-great strap!

+1.....those scrathes are pretty minor. It's a nice watch. No one is gonna notice it but you!

If you're expecting perfection every time, then you're in the wrong game.

You will learn to live with small imperfections if you wish to pursue this hobby.

In fact having this kind of minor imperfection is a good thing for me because I can enjoy modifying the watch to perfection, making my watch very special.
