Just for the comparison:

Here´s a gen 005

And here´s one from Josh:

Both the gen and Josh´s seem to be something like white when not charged.

Here´s a David Sen 005:

His and all the relumed reps seem to be green, a bit more or less,
but the gen is white on hands and markers

What do you think?

I am sending my new upgraded Davidsen 005 to Vacuum for re-lume. The number/marker color really sucks and the super-lume is not!. If I had it to do all over again, I would have bought from Josh and sent it out to Vacuum as well but the Font and logo placement would have been better then this upgraded one. I don't know whats going on with Davidsen, but these issues keep cropping up. The Davidsen case and CG are very good IMHO, but I can't compare them to any others, so that is an unknown to me.

I've never thought the lume color was that bad, mine isn't perfect - but apparently it is better than others.

#1 - Davidsen's pictures suck, don't go strictly by them
#2 - If the watch has been around light, it will appear more green as it will be slightly charged.

I'm not 100%, but I don't know if the 005 should glow like the sandwhich dials - I have heard it isn't supposed to.

Mine glows quite well and is visable throughout the night.

Here are a few pics of my lume color:

Congrats to Watchdude.
The color of your dial is matching the hands - looks perfect on the pix.

What did you do?
Did it come in that condition or did you do some fine tuning?
The CG seems to be one of the aftermarket types, a bit thicker.

Please tell me more.

I agree, I own and have many davidsen watches. I have sent soem back also. The reason, the green color on the numbers. The only ones that look right are his Fiddy and vintage watches. Personally I will not buy any other watch besides those two models until he fixes this problem. No Gen that i have seen has the green like that none. I just got his GMT guess what? Yes you are right green numbers just like the 082. So frustrating.

i think that is c7 sl on davidsend and it is really green , most gens panerai use a c3 , it is a slight green when dormant and about the brightest out of all lume , rolex and most others use c1 , this is coming from my sales rep at rc.tritec company, she is swedish and man she sounds hot, lol wowwowowo

oh yeah i was also told that panerai mostly buys c3 but they have bought just about all colors , so they could be experimenting , it could be a comination of c1 and c3 but definitely not bright white like c1 , hek it may be natural GL on some , lol now r u confused anymore, lol i tend to lean towards c3 myself

The watch you see is how it came out of the box. No change to the lume, stock CG. I recently did do a little work to the CG and moved the pin up to get it flush, but these pics are before that. Here is the CG & pin after the little bit of work I did to it:

Josh's color is better

There are certain elements of Davidsen's watches which are better than other dealers, but he consistently lags behind in dial detail quality. Lume color is just one of these elements (though his fonts are very quickly improving, as are the variety of the models he offers). This is not to say it is BAD, because it really isn't, it just isn't as close as some of the other dealers. The ironic thing, though, is that Davidsen uses real superlume, so while the color might be a shade off, the lume quality is almost always better.

Pick your poison, I say.

Davidsen may use real super-lume, but the mixture that is used for his sausage dials does not glow like super-lume. Plus it has that very incorrect light lime green color. Anyway one of the upgrades we are paying for is the superlumed dial and with his sausage dials we are just not getting our moneys worth. Regardless of the color I would still send it out for a re-luming.

So can anyone comment about Davidsen's 111h lume color? I am just curious cause I am waiting to get one, when the new dial comes out, and just want to be certain its worth the 350.

I have never heard anyone complain about color on his 111?

If I have to relume the dial who can do the job in Germany or Europe?
I suppose it doesen´t make any sense to send it over to Vacuum.
It would have to pass the customs twice and that´s double the chance for trouble.

lume...

This is good info from all, especially the first hand stuff from folks who actually have the watches..be careful when comparing lume based on pics alone though, because different pics of the same (exact) watch can come out vastly different. Take the gen PAMS for example; I got the 2006/2007 Fall-Winter newsletter from Panerai yesterday. On the cover is a picture of the 233, and the hands and numerals look SUPER green, not glowing lume green, just straight up green in color. Then there’s another pic of the 233 (they’re really hypin’ the p.2002 movement right now) a few pages in, and the hands and numbers are almost completely while…that’s two pics, by Panerai, in the same piece of literature, and they look COMPLETELY different…anyone else seen the newsletter that can verify what I’m trying to get at?

I just picked up the 005 and 111H from David son.
Overall they are very, very good.
However, the 005 is advertised to have C3 lume which is yellow.
Mine is Jolly Green Giant green - definitely C7 lume.
The lume color is so green it is not currently wearable by my standards - its an embarrassment.
Will have to be relumed to make it look proper.
I suppose another of those "little white lies" dealers tell.
Disappionted, I thought he was an honorable man.........
