PAM 005 H vs. Noob comparsion

Thank you for this, really interesting. So does it appear that the noob version has an improved dial, on par with the H-fac? Looking forward to your side-by-side shots when you have them both in hand! Thanks again!
In the last pic you can see at 6 o'clock that the lume is already recessed on the Noob too. Overall appearance of the dial must be compared when i have received it. Best
Me also, but since i wear it nearly daily on regular basis, it is not that seeable imho. But anyways, alone from the qc pics of the noob 005 looks way better in that occasion.

That will be an unvaluable document for this comparison
Obviously we would need pics from 12 or 6 and from 3 and 9. Try to put the base of the bezel in the horizontal plane.
We would also need pics of the dial with the correct lighting conditions to see the lume structure in order to be compared with the gen. It would be interesting to get pics of the dial without crystal if possible. Your personal opinion in front of both dials will be very important
As far as I can see by the pics Noob version could be a transition model between V3 and V4, but we will see with the pics from 12 and 6 in order to observe the lug contour in relation with the cushion shape edge. CG lever and Crowm are V3 for sure
CG and CG pin are clearly better on Noob despite the improvements of H maker.

When i have both in hands, i will do the best i can to take the pictures needed.
Maybe even pulling the movements out with the dial attached of course to take some pics without the glare. You can get a real good comparison with them out of the case.

Regarding rep sausage dials, be careful, the appearance o current dials is very gen-like, but the real structure is not seemingly the same
Maker are IMO making a technical trick to get the gen appearance but the lume structure is completely different, just as showed in below pic taht I ahve published a lot of times lastly

I have a relatively recent noob 005 and I used to think it was slightly recessed but now I think it might be more like the "REP SAUSAGE" dial from ALE's picture. I find it very difficult to tell though. I can make out the corners so it does look recessed but the lume also looks slightly roundish so it could just be an illusion. I tried to make a picture, thought a macro shot would help me determine but I as my photography skills are no good I still don't know. Oh one thing about panerai logo on the noob that I don't like is that the corners on the downward facing arrow to the right are a bit roundish and not 100% sharp edges. Seems to be the same on the one in question here judging from the QC pictures.

The "recessed effect" is just that: an EFFECT, due to the edges are a bit recessed indeed.
It is no easy to see the real structure, but you can easily see the rounded shape of the upper surface of the lume.
If you take apart the dial you could see all that easily.

Some preliminary impressions
Regarding the dial I think it's undeniable that in these pics the H fac looks way better. Numbers and indices engravings have a glossy wall, lume application is noticeably flatter. Somebody stated the center hole is too large, it may be true but it has a smooth edge, closer to gen imho.
About the case, the noob looks to be still ahead imho.
Look at the H fac lugs in the side profile pic, they're skinnier than noob and that's good, but they are too curved downwards near the strap.
Moreover, H fac CG brushing looks too rough and the pin is dead flat while it should have a bit of chamfer like in noob.
I'm looking forward to some comparison pics that can confirm or deny my impressions.

Always going to the easier way...
This is just what we all are trying to determine my friend.

If you cannot find a difference, then you can buy either and just be happy enjoying a great rep.
Don't over analyse... even if you find out that a new version is available (how knows when a v5 shows up?) you can always sell the current version with a small loss.
