Its amazing on how the small details can make such a difference. Last summer I got a Radiomir chrono from Josh and even though it really was a beautiful watch, it just did not suit me. I would wear it for a couple of days and put it back down for a month, I just could not warm up to it. I sold it here a couple of months ago (hope its current owner enjoys it ). In the meantime, a co-worker of mine had got a couple of different PAMS from Trevor and I thought I would try a Panerai again. I saw photos of this 253 Flyback and thought that it would be a nice addition to the heard. I received it Friday, unpacked it and all I can say is WOW!! I am thinking that the rose gold color, thinner band and wire lugs of the Radiomir I had was what spoiled the look of it for me. This 253 in brushed stainless is awesome and probably won't leave my wrist for the next few weeks. From photos of the gen, the only flaw that jumps at me is the big seconds hand. The gen appears to have a more light blue color to it than the dark blue this one has. This rep is supposed to have a light AR coating and that is no exageration since it catches alot of reflections. I'm thinking the gen would have a better AR, the PAM experts maybe can expand on these points. The only real bad thing for me is the double deployment buckle which is a pain to release. That problem will be solved when I cahnge to a leather band. Bought used from another member over at RWG, I now share with you some pics of my new (and not my last) Panerai. Enjoy and have a good week!
