Anyone else underwhelmed with the rep P9000 movements currently in most watches available at the moment? The faux escape wheel just sitting there is a huge turn off for me, IMO.

Most of the watches that use this movement, I would buy in a heartbeat if it wasn't for that escape wheel. The P3000 rep is pretty nice but unfortunately all I've seen them in is 47mm cases which is too large for me.

Yep its not the best but the p9000 is an inhouse movement so they are trying to mimic the movement to look similar. If they just put the wheel your talking about in the centre of the jewel it would look better.

In some way I agree with you. I have already said many times I'm a bit bothered for such a decorated movements and their versions. We would need to start a new way to the real clone movement
False escapement wheel bothers me specially. Indeed on my KW PAM 505 the false escapement wheel fell due to a strong blow and I have left the watch like that.

the gen p9000 and p3000 are so much better refined than the rep ones that I just don't bother looking on the back of a rep anymore. It really doesn't do it for me. I hate most rep movements unfortunately now, the p5000 is the WORST.

I think it's unanimous, unfortunately the only way to vote is with your wallet. Don't buy these reps and the makers will listen.

while i agree with you guys in some respect - keep in mind that this is the best we currently have and thats why we are buying them.

It was not that long ago that we did not even have a decorated P.9000 and people were still buying the same watches with an undecorated 7750 or completely inaccurate 6497 modified p.3000. So its all relative. We now have these p.9000 and 9.3000 looking movements, and yes of course they are far from perfect, but at least they look a lot better than what we had before.

will we ever see clones? who knows, and yes of-course, we could all just wait and not buy them, but then all the fun goes out the window, the comparisons and the side by side reviews, isn't that half of the fun in our hobby?
