So Panerai has decided to make in house movements. And many of the
newest watches they're currently putting out are with these in house
movements. What does that mean for us? What does that mean for reps
of these watches?

Panerai has a whole line of pretty damn amazing 44mm autos in mini fiddy
cases that are all clear caseback p.9000 powered. there's no way around
it, if they're gonna be repped, they would either need to put an effort into
the movement, or just decide to not even bother and put out way off attempts.

There was a whole thread from Angus on this topic on the other forum and
many an opinion were expressed. Mine being basically do it right please and
take your time making it happen, or just don't bother. But anyway, wouldn't
it be fantastic if we could get a 288k caliber rep of this:

hopefully this new p.9000 isn't going to be a big stumbling block, I have
faith in you rep gods, I know you can pull this off:

there's so many nice pams with the p.9000 engine, we'd be buying em up
like crazy if they could get it done close to gen.

No pearlage
No cotes de Geneve
We're talking brushed finish, and polished anglage.
they could even just print the rotor and print the cover plate.

I have high hopes here....

Ooooh boy. Mate sorry to burst your bubble but when it comes to in house movements....doubt it....best thing we can have is a correct rotor  If they indeed decide to make that movement it will:

1. Take for ever
2. Won't get it right the first time
3. Prices will be sky high. We're talking $1000+ here and sorry but I won't spend that much money on a watch that still needs modding e.g. CG, crown etc etc.

I don't see this happening in the near future mate, sorry. Imagine how many version there will need to be to get this thing right. Rep factories need to concentrate on something else if you ask me. They haven't repped simpler movements like the double chrono and I can't even imagine them going after an inhouse movement...

I followed that other forum thread and added my comments. I'm hopeful that we can get a decent cosmetic facsimile along the lines of the 288K and I agree 100% they will sell.

Put me on the list of guys who want a good 312. BTW please do the lume right!

In house p.9000, display case back, titanium, 47mm, fiddy sub case... All of my favorite Panerai features are finally brought together in this one. I'm sure no rep will ever come close, if one een comes.

fantastic looking watch!!!

I know that we're, as a group, very skeptical about the rep factories
bothering to make a cover plate/rotor for the a7750 that could nicely
match the appearance of the p.9000. but I for one am still going to hold
out hope that it can be done. these p.9000 watches are so damn nice.
this 305 is simply amazing, I'd love a good rep of that oh my.

You're not the only one MMs. I normally don't spend much on my reps, but I'd be willing to shell out for one of these. I thought it would be as simple as extending the rotor shaft and cutting a plate to match the typical asian auto movement that exposes the balance wheel. The shape of the cover plate wouldn't be spot on, but the fact that it had a cover at all would lend credibility. I mean, I don't think many people have the exact shape of it memorized to be able to call it out without having a gen for comparison.

it's not like they need to do a whole new p 9000 clone, rather just make a nickel plated clone 2824 with a dummy bridge and a correct rotor, I believe that is a very common mvt in the rolies.
- should be possible to do for this too, as long as we're not looking for a mvt that would fool a watch collector.
actually in the rolies, the 3135 "clones" (as they're called ;) ) are made without being a must, due to the non see through caseback. -would make more sense to put the effort into these pams, where a saphire caseback makes a "similar to gen" movement a must.

depends, who are you ever gonna fool with a see through caseback unless you get it 100%, yet we still have fiddys with glossy shiny mvt, with yellow paint in the writing instead of gold in the writing.....yada yada yada..... I think it could get good enough to live with- I dont think they will make a whole new rep mvt from scratch just to use in pam reps....too narrow targeting to develope a new mvt really.

Wow, that first one is a stunner. Something like that would acctually make me consider a PAM. Love it!
