I just received my VSF 382 from Andrew and I'm quite impressed. I have one question about manually winding it because it doesn't always keep going when I put it back on in the morning. Do i manually wind clock-wise or counter? Winding clock-wise sounds like a little gear is turning. The other direction yields the satisfying click of the 6497 that I am more familiar with.

When holding the piece face up in front of you, push the crown forward to wind it (or clockwise). It should sound a little finer than the 6497 clicks. I usually wind 15-20 times and then give it a little shake to get it going.

Thank you, that is what I assumed but I wanted to confirm before breaking it.

Yes, either move the crown clockwise or away from you a few times to get the movement running. Or shake the watch. Before it was even suggested to whirl the watch around your head, which can be a bit disconcerting.
