well it has been quite some time since i ordered a watch from overseas. alot of my new watches i have bought from members of RWI. BUT i have to admit there is a different level of excitement when i receive one from CN. i coudnt find too much info on this particualr model so i thought i would give some thoughts on my new addition.
i always loved the navitimer, but after getting 2 hbb's and the ap roo i new there was no way i could wear a 42mm watch. thats when i found the navitimer world gmt. over all the diameter is 46mm wide and about 15-16mm thick....just the way i like em'. alot of my watches are around 44mm wide, but this looks alot bigger. i think the reason why is due to the case or lack of. when looking at the watch it is ALL dial there really isnt a case surrounding the dial...there is a thin bezel and thats about it. so i think in general this looks bigger than a regular 46mm watch. the watch runs on a new modified asian 7750 with 28k bph. the modification is the same one they use in the new chopard gmt's and basically allows you to independently set the gmt hand. to do this you pull the crown to the date setting and turn the opposite way you would to set the date. this really is not a feature i need, but may come in handy. the bezel is the best ive had yet. nice and smooth and not loose at all. lastly, i dont know if they are using new lume on the hands, but i have to say this thing is bright!! the hands of course are the brightest, but they are much brighter than any other watch i had.
a couple of complaints about this watch:
1) NO AR (anti-reflective coating)!!! this bends me the wrong way, although i did know this before buying. after having the hbb i am now used to having ar on my watches and this particular model should definitely have it. the dial is so big it is almost blinding from the glare....OK im exaggerating, but its pretty bad. i hope to remedy this by finding somebody to do the ar mod for me. most breitlings have ar and this should be no exception.
2) the bracelet is very small. it barely fits me...it fits, but when it gots hot it will get a little snug. FYI for all big wrist guys. my wrists are around 7 1/4-1/2. also the bracelet quality is OK at best. nothing compared to the BCE.
3) the date wheel of course. like the majority of reps out there the datewheel is not even close to the gen. out of everything this bothers me the least.
overall, i give this watch a B-. i got an amazing deal on this watch, but i do not think it is worth $328+$30 shipping=$358 like some dealers are selling it for. you can find it cheaper, but just be sure you are getting the new version with the correct caseback and updated movement.
now for some pics ...
***comparison with the gen***
***nice comparison with the BCE for size***
