Well here is a little job to do I hadn't planned on, I'm not sure how the minute hand can detach while the watch was in the watch box :confused:not exactly the easiest watch to take apart either..

It might have been loose already and just needed that bit of a nudge to finally get it out of the post. I hope you know what you're doing cause you could easily mark the dial or bend the hand if you don't. Good luck.

A local watchsmith should be able to fix that. If I recall it’s easy to work on the PAM438 dial.

All sorted now, I'm quite happy to do jobs like this, and I've got all the proper tools, including dial protectors, I've replaced whole movements before, but I wouldn't strip down or service a movement.

You’re a braver man than me — or at least much better skilled ...

What caused it to get loose??

I'm not sure, it lives in a soft service case when Its not being worn, but it is a bit of a daily beater, so perhaps it's come lose while I was wearing it and as Mysterio says got bumped in the case which was enough to bring it off the post?
Not sure about brave or skilled :D
