Hello all,

Thought I would kill 2 birds here, give a shout-out to Mario (Orloff) who I buy all my straps from, and show you guys my PAMs.

There are a lot of "what strap should I get" threads, so if you don't know about Mario, (http://orloff-straps.blogspot.com/) you should check him out. He does great work, very high quality and quite reasonably priced. Several long-time members use him, but he doesn't have a dealer section here (but does on another rep forum, as well as P*neristi.) A great strap really brings these up a few notches and creates the gen look and feel, which is what you want after all...no point wearing pickled cat skin on your wrist and feeling bad about yourself.

Left to right: 232, 380, 292, 111

Davidsen 232: brown gator w/ creme stitch, 27/22. I love the brown dial and gold hands, it's a beautiful watch despite any discrepancies in the case, and I think is unfortunately overlooked. Has a great vintage look and the quality is there.

H Fac 380: black gator w/ white stitch, 27/22. When this came out 2 or so years back, people nit-picked the font, which is correct but not for this watch. Nobody can tell. It is terribly underrated and has passed for gen w/ 2 friends that have gen PAMs.

Noob 292 Pig: Black nubuck gator, 27/22. The watch everyone is kicking themselves for not buying when they could. Matte strap has a greyish tone which goes perfect with the watch.

Noob 111: V3, Black gator, black stitch, 24/22. My first rep, and still going strong. Just bought a bunch of Dialux polishes and went over it with my drill.

What's this? IWC Portuguese ZF: Dark Brown Gator, brown stitch, red backing. Brings the watch to gen level feel.

There you have it. If you have any doubts about ordering from Mario...don't. Might be time to sell my Watchboys blue gator on my Noob Laureus Ingenieur and see if he has any blue gator laying around.

I totally agree, Orloff's work is outstanding. He's the only one I would buy a croc strap from and it might be worth to mention that his prices are surprisingly reasonable for the quality he offers

Have ordered several straps from Mario. His work is very good and I would highly recommend. The only mistake I've ever encountered is one I've made when ordering. I gave him the wrong size strap dimensions for IWC 3714 and ended up with a strap for a 5007 :( I have it for sale if you want a spare strap for the 5007 of yours. Black alligator would go very nice ;)

I completely agree with Orloff being a top notch strap maker. I had one of his crocs on my LPP and loved it!

These are all really great looking straps! It looks to me like they all have a little padding in there. Do they? If so, what are the thicknesses of the padded and non padded part?
Thanks

Nice straps! I have got some from Mario as well. They would be perfect if the stitches weren't tilted to the right.

hi
I'm glad you made this observation
as you can see by the attached picture, there are two different types of sewing
in one, the point descends to the right, the other to the left
what's the difference ?
the seam that descends to the right, it is machine made, one that goes down to the left is made by hand
no needle sewing machine can make a seam like this, can at best be straight
in my experience, when you offer a strap "hand-stitched" with a seam that goes down to the left, I doubt !! and ask for explanations
greetings and thanks
Mario

Watch isn't perfect but very well built and has a strong gen-like appearance. The blue gator Nubuk strap from Mario (with golden stitches) is perfectly built with a strong better-than-gen-appearance. It's my fourth strap from Mario and definitely not the last.

Bang for buck is superb and these look great. Nubuck rules on the 292. I have a Simona nubuck on mine. I personally prefer Jacob's crocs on more dressy watch designs like the Portuguese but Mario's straps are great on PAMs.
