This is not so much a review, but more of a chance for me to tell you how enthusiastic I am about this watch. How it is worth every penny of its relatively cheap price, for a new, genuine Swiss-made watch...around US$1200 all in.

You may have read the recent mutterings about the Oris Carlos Coste rep....which is nice, but the lack of Titanium is a serious issue when it comes to being a faithful replica.
I like the shape of the TT1 series, so I had a look around the net for something similar.
The standard TT1 Titan Diver was nice, but I have a Marathon TSAR, so I didnt want a similar kind of watch.
The TT1 chrono with 7750 was also nice, but I have far too many 7750s, and I didnt want to spend a lot of money.
Then I saw this; the Regulator. Its quite unusual to look at initially, but you quickly get used to it. I guess thats why I bought it, because of its quirky-ness. The sapphire crystal is nearly 5mm thick! Glareproofed inside.

Its layout was based on the old Oris Regulator timepiece which has a dial for each hand; with the main emphasis being for the Minutes. Since this is a 1000m diving watch, minutes is everything. Oh and in case you're wondering what the German translation is... "The Master Diver". The German Navy tested it to 1000m and so it earned the certification.

The hand is filled with a very strong lume, the bezel rotates very positively, and would be difficult to accidentally knock. Helium Escape Valve is a nice touch, easy to use too.

The case is 44mm, when wearing it, it feels more like 42mm. Then there's the weight - or lack of! The all titanium construction has certainly paid dividends here. It is so comfortable. Some people like a heavy watch, and I do too...to some extent, but when it gets to 44mm and all steel - it becomes a bit of a nuisance when engaged in physical activies. Sliding and clunking around uncomfortably. The construction of the watch is superb, it surprises me that Oris can produce this relatively cheaply. It feels as good as my other gen watches which are of a much higher retail value.

So there you have it - Swiss watches need not break the bank, especially as some "super-reps" are becoming more and more expensive. Why not have a look through the Oris range and bag youself a bargain! :)

Very nice pictorial. I gotta say that the Oris watches are definitely growing on me. I keep going back to Costco to check out the Titan Chrono. I'm sure one of these days I'll end up coming home with it. =) Wear your watch well.
