Hello, here is a review of my purchase of a VSF DJ (36 Jub Black SS/SS) from Steve at Theonewatches:

7/28: Sent initial deposit of $50 USD via Wise
7/29: QC received
7/31: GL watch and confirmed final payment details
8/1: paid remaining $500 via Wise
8/3: tracking info received
8/10: package delivered

Having worn the watch for about a month now, overall I'm satisfied. My only issue is that the rotor is quite loud, and lightly tapping the watch creates a rattling sound which is more pronounced than it should be. The noises seem to have gotten louder over the past month, thus I am concerned that the rotor may be loose and need to be tightened. It has been a challenge finding a local watchsmith to service the watch, so I may end up sending it via mail to one of the trusted watchsmiths listed on the forum (I had hoped to avoid the hassle of mailing it, but seems it may be the best option).

Overall, it was a positive experience with Steve. Thank you.

You don't have many options. I have used the watchmakers listed on RWI without any problems for years. Keep in mind nothing is fast.
Thank you very much for the reply. Noted and makes sense.

You can buy the screwdriver for the 3235 movement
And a friction ball to take the caseback off
Thank you very much for this info, super helpful! I would love to do this myself however I'm unsure of a couple points, wondering if you could please kindly advise:

A) how tight I should tighten the screw onto the rotor (just an approximate sense of how tight this should be by hand)?

B) when closing the caseback, what type of silicone grease / how much / and where specifically to apply it? Presumably a sparing amount to the threads themselves.

C) is there anything else I should be aware of when carrying out this process to help improve (or at least not negatively impact) water resistance? I have read that greasing the caseback threads and fully tightening them down is helpful for this. I know there are of also other places on the watch e.g. crown tube that need to be greased and/or tightened to ensure water tightness, however I assume these are probably beyond my beginner abilities so would presumably not tackle them when doing this myself?

In case there is another thread I should review to learn more about this, please let me know. Very much open to any guidance. Thank you so much again for your help.

This is for greasing the rubber gasket and you don't grease the threads of the case back just the gasket.
Just need to snug the screw up for the rotor.
If you have something to blow hairs, dirt or whatever might be inside the case would be a good thing before closing it up tight.
Just open, tighten the screw, grease the gasket, blow whatever loose particles are there (while the gasket is getting greased ) and then tighten the case back up again.
You should be good to go after that with a more silent rotor. Just remember that your watch will not be waterproof just because the gasket has been greased.
It really is an easy process to do and you shouldn't be afraid.

Hope that helps.
Thought I would add this video about greasing the gasket

God damn the black looks amazing. I have blue as I thought black would look bland but this is stunning.

Nice looking watch
Thanks! Happy with it.

The only thing I did not fully understand before purchase is that the fluted bezel on these can be a tell. Of course 99% of people will never notice it (if they even notice the watch at all), but for people who know Rolex, the stainless fluted bezel on these reps looks noticeably different from the white gold fluted bezel on gen. So in retrospect, I probably would have opted for a smooth bezel (and/or may swap it out or have it WG plated at some point).

But overall, it's a minor point - pleased with the watch :)
