hi folks,

I have a few ETA based reps in my collection which I still don't know if their movement is gen or not.

This AP was bought as gen ETA.

Anyone would mind helping to know what it is really ? The quality of the stamps and the finish (not the typical Seagull clone pearlage) lead me to think gen.

Thx for your comments. :)

Clearly a Genunine ETA. Adjustment markers are correct, engraving is crisp, and the shock spring is the right shape, and the bearing housing has the three correct divots 120 degrees apart.

Cool :)
So we still have gen things in our reps ? (doesn't mean new)
To be honest, I did not pay premium for it, there was no clone option for this one.

Correct reversing gear, novodiac shock, and clean stamping. Looks good. So you paid for a clone but received a watch with an Eta movement? Lucky you

It's a far cry from the movement that was dissected recently and just goes to show you never really know what you'll get in a rep.

No, sorry I expressed it wrong. I paid for gen, but there was no choice between clone and gen. So I did not do the step of paying premium to get a gen, just bought what was available.

I was more interested in the correct case replication than the movement, knowing that eventually I could have had a gen ETA transplanted into it. But it seems I don't need to :)

This is a very interesting movement all visible parts look legit. It looks clean (though mine did too till I tore it down).

September - October 2004 it was made and it's an eta in-house repaired movement..... which honestly is VERY interesting.

You may see it the day I'll have it serviced :)
So far it has shown a perfect behaviour.
I'm more into "if it works, don't touch it".

I haven't seen such numbers on my gen 7750...
Can they be hidden under a plate ?
