I'd get a shiny new bezel insert.

I don't see anything about it that screams, "Rep."

Ask him to tell you which dealer he purchased it from and call the dealer if the receipt is still readable. There are ways to authenticate it if the seller is cooperative. If he's not, wait for another one.
