Oops....PAM111 / Unitas

Hi all,


I was winding up my new PAM111 last night and the movement just didn't feel like it was getting any tighter compared to the Unitas movement in my 292......


It then made a bit of a loud click and now it is only winding up 6-8 times before it feels like the movement is skipping again and resets itself.


Does this mean the main spring is broken / on not correctly mounted?? The watch is still working....just can't be wound up as much

Sounds like the mainspring is broken. Or the barrel arbour is not functioning as it should. Most probably the hook on the end of the mainspring is broken. Either way, you'll need to replace the whole mainspring which is very easy with a spare movement.

Any suggestions on best place to find a spare movement? Thanks, I'm hunting around as well as we speak.
