Hello All,

I have more misery to add to my Breitling Superocean Heritage Chrono that I bought less than 8 weeks ago. Since I've had it, it had less than 2 weeks of wrist time and ever since, I've had problems one after another. First it was a hour hand slip that led to the date change at 7:00. I managed to fix the problem myself by disassembling the entire watch and manually move the hour hand back into place.
Refer to post for 1st problem: viewtopic.php?f=66&t=46918

A day later, the botton to my deployant clasp popped out and cannot be fitted back into to place.

Now, the movement has stopped entirely and I don't know what to do about it anymore. I've turned the crown to wind the watch, but there is no sign of life. However, when I cuase the rotor to turn, 1-2 seconds on the sub dial will move, but no more.
It is just not maintaing a beat anymore.

What has gone wrong with the movement? How can I fix it?

Thanks. :(

have you told the dealer of the problems? if you haven't it is certainly time to do so.

Yes. Some told me to contact the dealer after my first incident, but it took over 2 weeks for a simple reply and all he said was that he did not get an e-mail from me explaining about the problem.

So, in that time frame, I went and examine the problem and decided the watch was worthless to me, so I opened it up and fixed the problem. During the fix, I ran test to make sure the movement was still working. When I was complete, I assembled everything together and ran one last test to find out the movement stop beating.

I don't know what to do in this case? Nothing is prevent the wheel from turning. I've eliminated that possible problem. It just won't beat.

I did contact the dealer about this problem, I just have to wait and see what he says at this point.

How do I bring it back to life? [smilie=angel2.gif]

Try blowing on the hairspring/balance wheel with a dustblower...it could be gummed up/dirty or tangled...

Well, if it get's any worst on the dealer response, please let us know who it is so that we could help crucify him and put his/her name on our blacklist!

Congrats on getting it all put back together. Have you tried double checking that everything is turning freely from the barrel down through to the escape wheel by manually turning the barrel, wheels and pinions aligned properly? I would remove the balance and pallet assembly and carefully reassemble.

I've had similar problems with less complicated movements, but never took a 7750 apart LoL. Good luck will it all.

Well guys,
I have not heard back from the dealer, so I went ahead and opened up the watch again. I looked over the watch to see what could have gone wrong with the movement and it does not appear that anything is misplaced or stuck in the balance wheel to prevent it from ticking. I gave it a bit of a shake and no worky. Just as I was loosing hope, as I was puting it all back together, the balance wheek majically beated on it owns!
It's a miracle! I couldn't believe it.
Since that day, I have been wearing it daily and it seems to be holding up.

Everything works fine. Now, I just need to spend money replacing the clasp as one of the botton popped out and cannot be put back in.

To lovereps - This watch was purchased from Edde at Tswisswatches.com . It is the first time I've heard purchased a rep let alone from a dealer I have never even heard of. I knew what I wanted, bit the bullet and paid. The best part about my experience was the fact that I actually got a watch! [smilie=angel10.gif]
Edde has reponsed to some e-mails during my purchase, but the after purchase e-mail was terrible to say the least. He does not want to hear from you again once he gets your $. At least this is what the impression I am getting.

I'm impressed you had the balls to take it apart and put it back together, and that it now works! One of these days I'm going to give up one of my watches as a sacrificial lamb and do some exploratory surgery of my own. I'm betting my first experience won't have the same outcome as yours!
Enjoy the watch and use this forum well. You should have much better customer service from the dealers approved here.

good job on getting to work, sometimes a pice of lint could be the culprit and opening it up can "unstick it".

This happened to my 3717, after some 4 weeks of no response from the dealer...he fianlly responded and I sent it back and the waiting took over 4 more weeks for it to be fixed. Im frustrated with dealers, and try only to buy second hand. I get the best deal that way and now I have more watches than I want. The box of 10 has half gens and half reps and 5 more reps in the drawer.

I hope it keeps working for you and since I fianlly got that 3717 back i had it modded only to return with a seconds chrono hand flating around in the dial.......frustration should be a 4 letter word.

Well, Watchbuff, I sent a watch back to the same dealer as you on 29th of august he then sent it back to me on 7th November (I must have received it about 2 weeks after that!) so nearly 3 months! Not a fast turn around (apparently it got lost in their possession and then turned up again!). I was just glad to get a watch back at all at the end of it!!

Glad to see the OP sorted it in the end but sometimes even if you buy through the forum you can get messed around a bit.
