Since I don't wear pams that frequently anymore so why not give them a new life [there are literally dusts on my 243s]
One day I was browsing IG and saw a 026 with tritium indices, I was immediately intrigued so I pm'ed @Belkin12 right away

Received the dial within a month, obviously the man does not disappoint:

I'm thinking about converting the 005DLC to a 026B, since the 026K is nice to look at and it's 'less common'

What do you guys think? Should I convert the 005 or the 026?
- Due to technical difficulties, I cannot pursue 100% perfection on case shape/caseback so I can live with these imperfections
- I can ask around and send the DLC case to have it de-DLC'ed and PVD'ed if it's possible and affordable

Good day!

It's hard to get an idea of the color from these photos, but I think it will be a little off the way it should be on the 026 with the T dial, so I would suggest using 026K for the project, just so you don't have to find new CG or redo old Either way, it's thick and won't fit perfectly, but anything is better than flipping it over.

Use the case from the 26k and hands from the 005 - it will make a cool rep that is pretty unique (at least, I have never seen one). BTW - I believe the 26 with tritium dial were A series.

I completely agree, it should be taken into account that the T dials of the A/B 026 series require PRE-V hands, unlike the K series. However, if necessary, the T can be supplied with white ones, but I would ask the creator of the dial to help. I'm sure he can. As for the series, there were both series A and B, they were distinguished by cases and numbers on the CB, respectively. Since the case will not be similar to either 6504 or 6523, that is, in fact, it does not matter, although if Davidsen is still in business, you can ask him, because his 026 was exactly the B series.

I believe pre-V hands can still be purchased via different suppliers and my watchsmith can do a relume if needed :)

Please let us know what you find for PreV hands - the last set I purchased from HR arrived gloss black... Perhaps it was an anomaly but the communication prior to purchase also seemed odd as well.

After communicating with my watchsmith, we came to a conclusion that converting the 026 is the better way, reason being:

Hands:
I searched high and low for reference pics of a 026 with tritium dial, found pics of those 026s with pre-v hands and 'normal' hands, @Woundup i planned to contact HR / tigerconcept / parts supplier from mainland but since i can use the hands on the 026K so I didn't contact any of the vendors

CG:
My initial thought was to flip the CG and call it a day but obviously it's not that easy, as @KOT1917 mentioned anything is better than flipping it over so here's another reason

DLC vs PVD:
005's case is DLC and 026's case is PVD, it's very cost ineffective if i send the 005 case to get it de-DLC and PVD'd
Originally I couldn't tell the different between DLC and PVD, but the more i look at them, i can i have an idea

In my experience, there is a difference in DLC vs PVD when the watch is well-worn..

High quality PVD looks rusty and cool with scratches and marks
