I recently purchased this N1F Omega Speedmaster Dark Side Of the Moon. Here are some pictures of it on wrist and in hand.

The dial is very dark as expected. The reflection on the sapphire is noticeable however the hour markers and hands reflect giving it the desired contrast. Date window is sunken but is known about on all models so far. The bezel and case looks nice.

Different angles give different contrasts of darkness. The Crown does not screw down but functions as it should

The stop watch sub dial seems to work just fine, as does the second hand

The Strap feels like it could be a lot better quality but still looks reasonable.

The clasp stays put if put together properly with the strap.

The Rotor is fine

The holes on the strap had to be stretched to receive the clasp prongs

Hope this helps someone
All the best

Hi mate, thanks for the review always appreciated.

There's some confusion regarding the thickness, if you get a chance could you measure it and update this thread 🙏 .

Here is a picture of the thickness I hope this helps.

Out of curiosity what is it supposed to be on gen?
What did you think it was going to be worst case scenario?
Is this a good result? 18.00mm

Gen is 16.1 and OMF V2 claims 17.2 but I think it actually comes in at like 17.8 so was curious to see what this one would come in at.

Thanks for posting!

Your Welcome.
If it’s any help I would say that 1.9mm may bother some but honestly I don’t think most people would be disappointed if they had it on wrist and liked the Dark Side of the Moon unique style.

Sadly I don’t think the factories upgrade this particular rep as frequently as others.

Thank you for the measurements, I measured my OMF at 17.8mm but I suspect both factories are using the same case set.

One more question for you is the dial lumed? The OMF is supposed to have lume on the hour markers but on mine only the hands are lumed.

Its just that when you worn a gen speedy before the almost 2mm is so MASSIVE .
Easy solution to that is don't try the gen 😂.

The gen DSOTM range is quite a lot thicker than the regular Speedy as well. So going from one to the other you'd notice the difference but then with the rep adding another 2mm on top of that.

Gen Speedy 13.2mm
Gen DSOTM 16.1mm
Rep DSOTM 17.8mm

Just replaced the Crystal with ( Prof ) who is listed within the forum. Crystal modifications

What do you think?

It has made a world of difference regarding the dark dial and the glare from the original crystal.

It’s a replacement or the same with an AR job done?
Is it any “slimmer” ?

18mm is thick

It’s a new crystal.
I have seen that people don’t like how thick it is. All I would say is I personally don’t find it a problem.
I haven’t re measured it but at 18mm you’re talking about 1.9mm difference. You truly won’t notice or feel that on wrist.
