I have received an Omega Seamaster from a trusted dealer. The bezel is almost impossible to turn. I realise the bezel turns only one way. I can return the watch but wondered if there was anything I could do. Possible spray with WD40. Any suggestions. Thanks.

Yeah, say your "Diving" You set the watch bezel to count down 15 minutes. If it can turn the other way (clockwise), you can bump it and gain time causing a serious problem when go over the 15 minutes. If you bump it and it's working properly, (counterclockwise) your dive is shortened but you won't die. 
I would be curious to see what type of click spring construction it uses. But it's doubtful it could that. Its always the same single bent wire design.
Best to put up photos of the watch and go from there.
I suspect you will have to remove the bezel before we can confirm the problem.
