Hi, can anyone help!!
I just purchased a Ladies Omega Seamaster Rep. All OK bar a couple of things, firstly the 2 top markers a slightly lob sided. Secondly the inside of the glass is dirty (like a film of dirt you get on inside of windscreen if not cleaned for a while).

I obviously need to open up to clean it so I PM the seller and he tells me it will be lubricants causing the dirt this sometimes happens in cold weather, all I have to do is take back off, take out the winding pin and lift out the internal workings, face and clean glass.

My first problem is how do I open back of seamaster without damaging it?, is there a tool with 5 prongs to fit the pits in case?, where can I get one from?

Secondly, when i've done this can I just pull out winder, this is a quartz watch.

It this acceptable?, I will not mention Seller in any of my posts, but am I expecting too much? this was $127 delivered to UK.

I don't mind cleaning but if i then have to buy extra things to do this then maybe I should expect a replacement?, does anyone QC these watches?

Heres the Pics

Can't really tell from the pictures. There is a tool sold that will fit the back but there's no point investing in it. So you just use a jaxa tool. You'll only be able to utilize two of the pins but the back is probably not on there tight so it won't give much resistance. The stem will have a release button like any auto. Can't give you the exact location but it should be by the stem.

This is my advice, not meant to cause offence or start any arguments:

If it is new and you are unhappy with it, talk to the seller and get him to send you another one. The reason I say this is, if you are relatively inexperienced at taking these delicate workings apart, you could end up with a useless paper weight.

Alternatively, see if there is a local watchsmith in your area who is prepared to fix reps. To him it will be a relatively straightforward job.

Just my 2 cents..

Ok I've ordered a Watch kit, with all the tools of Ebay, I'll give it a go. Is re-aligning the 12 o'clock markers an easy one?. I was thinking a steady hand and a pair of tweezers and super glue:unsure2:

Why don't you upload pictures to photobucket and post the "share" direct link here so we can see it?
