Hi I recently purchased a DSOM Black
On black and hardly wore it twice. A few days ago, upon trying to set the time, the black crown with the logo came off and popped out. I have somehow managed to just stick it back and have not worn the watch since. Is there an easy way to put it back. Can I just simply glue it back? Please help with any suggestions

What exactly came off? Just the crown or the crown with the winding stem still attached to it?

The crown is screwed onto the winding stem but in order to screw it back the stem must be released and come out. But there is a certain way to do that, otherwise you risk disturbing the keyless works which means part of the watch needs to be disassembled to fix it.

It’s just the crown that came off. Almost appeared like a cap sort of a structure. Not sure if it was screwed in to the stem to begin with, but if it needs to screwed back, I doubt with my sloppy fingers, I would be able to manage doing that and in return risking the movement!

Yes ok. In that case it is a very easy fix, only trouble is, that the stem must come out in order to properly screw the crown back on. Trying to screw it back on while the stem is still in the movement would be sort of a half-assed job.

Either way, very simple fix, but if you are not up to it better have it done by a skilled watch repair person.

Sure thing! Thank you so much for the response and guidance. Appreciate it. Will definitely give it one try or else it’s just better to hand it over to a watch repair person

You're welcome, I just don't want you to end up with more problems than there are now.

What needs to be done is to gently pull out the stem completely. Simultaneously you need to push the tiny stem release button on the backside of the movement. This must be done with almost extreme caution (I am guessing you are new to this), otherwise you risk disturbing the so called keyless works inside the movement. This is a set of tiny parts that functions as a "clutch" that holds the stem to be able to wind the movement or set the time. If something goes wrong you will not be able to put the stem back and it can then only be fixed by removing the hands and dial of the watch to get to the relevant parts.

Once the stem is out it is very straight forward. The crown can then be firmly screwed back and the whole thing can be wiggled back into the movement until it "clicks" back into position. If the keyless is still intact, it will be held in place and can't be pulled out again. If the keyless is fouled you can still push the stem back in but it won't click into position and won't be held in place.

Long story short: If you want to be on the safe side leave it to a watchmaker. Best of luck!

Firstly, thank you so much for actually such a detailed explanation. It makes sense textually though, but I guess I will take your suggestion as I have never even risked opening the case back of any watch, thinking I might end up damaging something. So I guess I will rather leave it to a watch maker I suppose to fix it for me. Appreciate your response to this
