I'm new here, but the Ploprof one of the first watches I looked into. What I learned is that the replicas were made and were very good, but they are no longer produced and only available secondhand from the M2M forum here (or other similar online marketplaces). And when offered for sale, they usually sell very quickly.

It is possible to find one of the replicas, but it takes patience and a bit of effort.

Personally, I looked at the current homages from Steeldive and San Martin, which are somewhat faithful, although would not fool anyone who knows what to look for.

https://sanmartinwatches.com/shop/sn071-sn080/sn077/sn0077g/ (possibly no longer produced)

https://www.steeldives.com/collecti...dive-sd1988-monobloc-professional-diver-watch (monobloc case, like the original Ploprof)
https://www.steeldives.com/products...1200m-diver-watch?_pos=1&_sid=24730657a&_ss=r (traditional case with removable back)

With a custom dial, however, they can be made to look very close to original. The homage watches cost $300-500 new, and a custom dial will run about $300 additional. Let me dig up the threads I saved for guidance, if you're interested.

There is a member here, manodeoro, that creates custom dials for these watches. I have an order in with him to create an "Omega" dial for the Steeldive watch. You might be able to reach out to him as well, if that option appeals to you.

Not sure I understand what you're saying.
There are homage watches that are still sold, I linked two of them, and there are others, I believe, as well. They are not marked or represented as Omega Ploprof watches, but very close in design. It is possible to retrofit a dial and hands to them so they will appear very similar to a Ploprof. One of the threads has an example, and I'm currently in the process of having one made myself.

Lovely, can you tell us who makes the bezel ? I'm looking for a blue one at the moment, ideally lumed.
I have both the Steeldive and the San Martin. With custom dials.

Were they ever made as reps (600)? I don’t think so
I think when the original, 600 ones were around, reps were crude and something "special" like this case wouldn't have been possible at any kind of cost that made sense. I would seriously doubt there were, other than maybe a one off thing.

Both can make inserts and dials.

Oh thanks. I got grey and white dials from Seikonda Customs already (and a superb orange one from manodeoro). I’m looking for a blue bezel insert to match the white dial!
