Surely many horripilarán, but are a symbol of the Vietnam War, speaking of watches
introduction:
During the Vietnam War, periods of leave of those who enjoyed certain combat units were enjoyed in Olongapo City, located near the Naval Station Subic Bay, Philippines ....
The city gave the troops every facility for fun and escape ...
In Olongapo came together many of the navy divers, Seals, members of the UDT (Underwater Demolition Teams), special forces ... and a trend was born to lead a series of bracelets, made by artisans of the city, made hand and customized for each fighter, with the insignia of their units or otherwise selected by the owner ....
The demand for these bracelets led to the birth of a flourishing cottage industry in the city ... And these curious additions to the watch took the name of the city where they were born, calling since Olongapo bracelets ...
the bracelets:
The first copies are associated with Type I Benrus ...
... but then appeared in any of the models used by soldiers ...
To be custom made, could lead any reason, or even identifying the bearer as a Mason, as in the example of Kontiki ...
... but usually wore the insignia of unit / body and the attributes of its task ...
I may look hideous, but of course, always beautiful and fascinating ...
