Old school PAM114 or the new PAM114 ???

As a white dial fan, I chanced upon a PAM114 that came with the best ever made and discontinued dial from davidsen, old school case and E series movement some years back.

The latest PAM114 released by the H-Factory is also very nice.

Differences are

My old school 114
- Smaller lume dots which is correct for D, E and F series
- "L swiss made L" placement slightly off
- Polished CG
- E series movement
- Flexibility in converting into a PAM114F (see thru caseback) or PAM10D (solid caseback)

OR

PAM10D

H-Factory 114
- Bigger lume dots (for newer eg. O series)
- Good "L swiss made L" placement
- Brushed and beefy CG
- H series movement

Can't have both.

It is either I stick with the old school 114 OR let it go for the latest 114.

Tough call...

Old school.............v1 DSN

Tough one, but I would never let my v1 dsn dial go in exchange for a modern h factory.

The LSML on the v1 is a fraction too low below the minute indices outer perimeter but it is a better size font and correctly spaced off the minute indices above it.

Overall! to me, the hour fonts look a tad too fat on the H factory and the v1's seem better? How is the dial surface and font surface finish on the h? Are the fonts raised and glossy?

If you have them both to hand then you are the best judge.

I love my 010d as I cant personally live with an open case back unless its a fully modded marlin movement LOL

Here's a couple of gens for comparison.....I got to say the 3 is a big improvement on the latest H factory - top flat is much more gen like?

I like more the old school in a nostalgic way, but I think H maker is more accurate
Anyway not yet a Super replica.

Just curious
Why is H maker using a Noob Swan Neck spring and screw ??
I have seen other QC pics of PAM 113 and 114 H maker with the same Noob parts.
