I just ran across a great local deal on a PAM 111. It is not in my possession yet so I cannot take pics but he said that she got it from T4D. He says that it is too big for his wrist. He are the specs from the email.

SS 44mm Case
A6497 Movement W/swan neck
Sapphire Crystal w/ single AR
Flush CG pin
Lumed
TooTall Strap

I have read a ton, but would like to get you guys info on what mods I will need to plan on having done to make it more Gen like. Thank you greatly, and I am looking forward to my first Panerai.

I asked about the lume... he did not say Vac (which is what I was hoping for), but i cannot remember. It was not DSN or I would have recognized him. i should have a bit more info in the comming days.

I do not think the pin was done though

What exactly is an offer too good to be true on a t4d 111 that you have not seen and only have a vague description of? Im just curious... are we talking $50, $75, $100???

$40 USD and local pick up. In like new condition. If nothing else I can use it for a "test piece" or parts. I am very new to the rep "game" though but t4d is listing a daily special price right now at 129 (i think)

@CBR If you recall I was too late to purchase the PAM you just sold. Interesting that this one has "fallen in my lap."

40 for a watch with all that buy it. NOW...hell the strap alone is worth around 80. If its lumed then thats easy 100+

I would be on that like white on rice!

Your right, that does sound too good to be true. The strap alone is worth double that (I see Coldi said the same).

That is my thought as well. I am supposed to pick it up later this week. I am heading out of town for work or I would pick it up over Labor Day.

I am a believer that most thing that seem to good to be true usually are... so we shall see. I just know very little about PAMs and hope for help with you pros. Even if the watch sucks, maybe the strap can be used on a better one :)

how did you find out about this? craigslist or something? friend? If he buys tootall and has had it lumed he is a member of one of these forums. Ask him which one he belongs to and make sure there are PM's which explain what you are getting ect...that way you will have mods behind you get something thats not advertised and they can help you out if need be

It is a bit of a long story about how I found it... the short version is I was talking to a friend at a BBQ. I mentioned that I was thinking about getting into reps. He told me of a friends dad that had done reps before he passed away. I kind of left it at that... later on I was in conversation with him again, and I mentioned Rolex, Tags, and Panerai. He told me that he remembered that Panerai name. So I got some info and emailed him. His girlfriend had gotten him a rep and it did not look good on his wrist. According to him it is the PAM, and has been in a box.

I do not know much about PAMs (CBR can attest to this due to my attempt to buy his sales yesterday). But after looking at prices of 111, I thought it was a steal. Then the TooTall strap, was a no brainer. He knows I want it, and he is holding it until I get back. The list of specs was a lot like the specs from the t4d. For 45 bucks... I can have it modded by vac or DSN if it is something that I cannot do.

I have not ever done a mod or owned a rep, but with a price like this. I could use it as a daily beater or get it as close to Gen as possible.

Thanks for the heads up on the Mods. That could be helpful although I hope I dont need them.

I don't plan on selling it, I was wanting to see how to make it look more like a Gen. I know very little about PAMs and there is so much info on modding PAMs I was looking for a bit of guidance.

If it was too overwhelming on mods I might just use it as a daily
