I buy a lot of parts from AliExpress for my little Seiko modding hobby and about a month ago I got a message from random store on AliX advertising with a yupoo link with a gigantic library of shitters and a whatsapp number. Probably found me from spending too much time on the store and eating too many cookies. I picked through them and found this Tank MC a friend of mine always wanted but since the JF isn't available anymore I told him it wasn't possible. Didn't think about the possibilities of DHGate/AliX tier watches though! Paid the $130 through a link on Ali and surprise surprise I actually got a watch in the mail a few weeks after.
The dial looks fantastic on the wrist but not entirely like gen when you look closely at it. The indices aren't correct as they have that white outline making them look more applied than the original but the dial itself plays with the light in a great way. The crown also doesn't have the correct shape. As for dimensions it's about 1mm too thick at 10.5mm instead of 9.5mm but length and width is spot on.
The back as with most shitters is where it all falls to shambles but also gets pretty interesting in my eyes. It's of course completely wrong looking with a round crystal instead of a square crystal and the movement looks like complete shit. The movement seems to be a DG2813 with a small seconds mod which I've never seen before. Fascinating how much they are able to do with this little movement, it must be the most modded movement in Guangzhou. Regulating that bastard is the worst experience of my life though. Pushing one lever sends the timing and beat error off to another dimension. Got it down to -4s/d and 0.4ms beat error in the end, don't ask me how I did it cause I have no idea. I saw numbers on that movement no watch enthusiast should ever have to see.
Anyways, wanted to share my trip to the dark side and luckily my buddy was ecstatic about the watch and that's all that matters.
