Obliterated serial number on a Rolex submariner midcase.

Much as I would love to use this to build my dream 16800, nothing says "legitimately procured Rolex midcase" like the first digits of the serial number being scratched off while the rest of the case is in excellent condition...

if it is really scratched out, grey dealers (or the AD they got the watches from) sometimes do this in the past - so as not to leave any trail (as AD are not suppose to sell those off to grey market dealers or any dealers for resale purposes)
