NYC Chinatown budget watch Panerai Knockoff

This is an oddball but it looked nice and felt good. This and the patek are my first "attempts" at the replica/knock off world and will likely be my last.. but for what I paid for these... I couldn't pass them up.
First.. is a radiomir/luminor bastard child.

Definitely not exact. It looks like they were going for the 1940 3 day look but missed with the crown off a typical radiomir

Movement is definitely a cheap copy, little bit noisy but so far, so good on time and reserve.

Overall the strap is nice and comfy.

47MM and pretty solid. clean lines and a neat little watch for some pocket change.. I'll get a pic of the lume better.. but man.. it's better than most of the other watches I own.

Hey, If you want a real Panerai then go get a real panerai, they're happily one of the most affordable famous brands out there.. 4-5k can get you into a decent one.. If you wanna stay cheap and get a replica.. get what you like and be happy with what you paid.

Canal Street is a fun excursion, the minute you ask of Panerai I usually get a hushed reply. Enjoy your new watch, Canal street reps aren't known for reliability or longevity, but worth wearing to determine if you want to invest in an upgrade.

My point was you can get a much more accurate and dependable rep these days either through m2m or even a td for a very reasonable price. Hence why I hoped you didn't pay much for this canal st piece.
as for going gen, I'd argue breitling or omega are more affordable then pam, but it obviously depends on the model. I have gen, franken, modded and rep pams. In the end, you gotta buy and wear what you like.

That budget watch looks terrible, sorry OP. No wonder You are going gen. Turns out the cheap knock-off ends up being a very expensive one, as the knock-off world is not for You any more after that experience.

Of course a gen is a gen, a real value, something to behold and pass down to future generations etc, etc. - and that is all very nice, until the day it gets stolen and You discover the specific subterfuge clause that allows Your insurance company not to pay You a cent.
One day after the robbery, gen or rep, they are all worth exactly the same: zero!
