I like to post my buying experience and I've taken the liberty of using my buyer review to show off my new Ulysse Nardin!
As much as I like & admire the workmanship in auto wind replica watches emanating from the mysterious Far East, more than once I get annoyed as nothing stays ticking between wearings, especially with many samples hanging on my watch shelf. Lacking the resources for a 25-watch winder, I decided to go the other way and buy a quartz model and if it has a passing semblance to a more famous doppelganger, so much the better!
There are more than a few to choose from but I choose to stick with my old chum Hont Watch as his samples page stretch for 20 pages and provide hours of dreamy gazing. I focused on the Ulysse Nardin, for reasons similar to a crow spotting something shiny and wanting to take it home to the nest.
A quick email inquiry was all it took to have me part with a few of the elusive spondulix. Western Union couldn’t take my money fast enough and customs and the postal service both must of had an extra shot of espresso coffee that week as within 8 days I was gazing on this beauty.
Re: the watch- the date is centered, the bezel is uni-directional and clicks nice enough (but not nearly as nice as the 2.5x as expensive Omega Planet Ocean from Hont). The push buttons both work, the hands on the little dials move and reset to spec. The band is a high quality rubber offering. I’ve got pretty big paws but was forced to spend an hour with the Xacto blade to trim an inch or so off the band to approximate my wrist size.
As usual, Hont & his team (or maybe it’s just him- I really have no ideas) came through with no hassles and nice product. Two more thumbs up for Hont & if I had a third thumb, I’d stick that up too!
