I jut got the Graham Chronofighter DIver from Hontwatch. The chrono fuction does not work. The rest of the watch appears to be wroking but I have only had it for 15 minutes. I am disappointed as I got this watch from a dealer who claims he hand picks the watch and no drop shipping. The watch is fully wound and the stem is pushed all the way in after setting the time. I tried the reset and the activation chrono lever and still no chrono. I will let you know how Hont handles this. I do not want to incure andy addtional expense. The large second hand is stuck at 12 oclock. The small clock face at the 3 oclock positon is turning smoothly. This leads to believe the watch will keep accurate time. The samll clock at the 9 o clock postion is tuck at the zero marker. The reset button moves in /out Ok and the lever appears to work also. Am I missing something? :?

Problem solved. A few guys on another Replica forum had the same problem. The problem is actually a feature. The large lever must be pressed in 100% till you hear a loud click to engage the chrono. You then press 100 % again to stop the chrono. The reset lever sets all the chronos to zero. I was pressing in 90 % and not getting the loud click. I had two other problems that I fixed myself. One was the engraving on the back of the watch is glues on. IT actually fell off within 10 minutes of wear. Lucky for me I saw it fall . I used epoxy to glue it back on. The large lever was wobbly or loose on my watch and rattled like hollow endlinks. It gave a cheap feel to the watch. I used needle nose pliers with thick rugger pads. A gentle squeeze
solved the problem. I have only had the watch for 3 hours so I can't comment on the accuracy etc, I will write a detailed review next week with close up pics. The watch got a lot of stares at a restaurant . It is a real conversation starter.

The Dealer Hontwatch was really great in getting back to me and helping resolve the lever problem. I can tell that he honestly wants to keep his customers happy. Keep a lookout next week for my detailed review.

Sincerely,

Steve

something similar
my st/st chrono diver died after i'd accidently left the chrono running for around 12 hours
i's been wary of using the chrono function as i could see the second hand action was very jerky but too much beer one evening...........cest la vie
if my watchsmith can't fix it i'll see about a conversion to quartz

the symbol on the rear falling off - the gen version of a smaller chronofighter i have did the same trick after a couple months which i put down the the high humidity and temperatures where i'm currently working

I left my watch with the chrono running and it didn't last more than 24 hours. I was going to measure the power reserve with the chrono running/ not running with a fully wound watch to see the time but after reading your post I will disengage the chrono. As long as I can see the second hand at the 3 O'clock position I am Ok . I have had a few reps that stopped on me and I was late for appointments. One solution to the unreliablility of automatics is the quartz version. I have seen a few dealers offering Quartz "os 10" versions of the same watch (same case and crystal etc) (not a cheap canal street quartz). If the quality is the same I would consider it. The Chrofighter with the small second hand at 3 oclock it is hard to tell is it quartz. I hoestly like quartz as you don't have to wind it and I rarely have had problems.

No power reserve in Graham Chronofighter Diver

It appears the watch keeps stopping if it is not on my wrist for more than a hald hour. It does not matter if the Chrono function is on/off. I was fooled yesterday as i kept it on my wrist. It is a shame as the watch looks beautiful.
I will contace Hont watch to see how he will handle this. From the emblems on the back falling off in the first 10 minutes till this. I think the QA control is lacking.

This is the part that drives me nuts..

What part of QC will ever show you an intermittent problem on a watch that will stop periodically throughout a day
outside of one of these?

berg692806ar.jpg

And if you think for one second that anyone outside of a very small dealer with little volume (usually high prices as a result) puts the watches through the tests?
None of them.. they can print in in black and white all day long but the fact is that they bank on about 90% being good ones and deal with the 10% that are shit.
If any of these dealers say that they QC, the most you can really hope for is that you get the right color and you dont have a huge frog sitting on top of your dial.
You may not like it,,, but this is the reality.

You are buying a replica watch... this kind of thing comes with the territory.. it sucks when it happens to you.. what you can hope for is that the dealer makes good on it...

I guess I have bad luck with reps. Every other item I purchased in my day to day life works fine. If there ever is a problem the store takes care of it pronto.

I think that I will reconsider the Quartz models or the Minolta japanese 21 jewels models that I see coming out. They are adverstised as the same case and components as the higher end watches but have the more reliable time proven movements. :?:

There is a big differance between buying retail and buying a rep.

!!!Calling Steve12345 Graham DIver

steve12345,

You issued a chargeback against HONT with your credit card company even though he told you he was refunding your money to you.
He sent you an address to send the watch to (address is mine) ....

I sent you a pm this morning which is now in my sent box meaning that you have read it, I asked you to confirm sending the watch, wither you have or not, I would appreciate a response please.

I hope you are not thinking of getting your money back from your credit card and keeping the watch... that would be not cool at all.

I only have gotten suspicious when you ignored my PM. I'm sure your a stand up guy but, but hont has asked me to receive it for him here in the US and I'm only watching this to make sure he does not get screwed over on this.

I cancelled the chargeback Saturday after i got the refund from Hont on my credit card. There is no dispute or chargeback to Hontwatch.

I also sent Hontwatch an Email on Saturday with the tracking # of the watch and confirmed that I got his credit on my mastercard. The tracking # proves when i mailed the package. I then cancelled any chargeback/ dispute wtih him. It took 3 days from the time that Hont promised me a credit till the time it showed up online on my mastercard. I also took many pictures with my digital camera in Macro mode of the watch next to the date of the Saturday Newspaper (with date of newspaper in view) to prove it is in new condition with no scratches at the time I mailed the watch. (I saw this in a movie hee hee).
I had no intention of keeping the watch, getting the credit and then filling a dispute for a the original price.

Take care,

Steve :D
