Not another home made pressure tester....

Well I assembled the nessisary fittings. Black iron like this is rated to 225psi so my house water pressure is of little concern. So this is reletivly safe considering. ;)

I gutted my 194 and wrapped it lightly in masking tape to protect it from scratches and put it in.

As the water filled the "device" I let the air bleed out of another fitting at the top then closed it once the air was all out.

I let it sit at pressure for over a half an hour then VERY slowly released the pressure.

Freed the beast and with no obvious water inside I warmed up the case with hair dryer until it was quite warm and put a drop of water on the saphire.

No condensation.....shes a go for the pool.

those fittings probably cost more than a pressure tester though :lol:

Old washing machine hose and about 12 bucks for the fittings. ;)

might be cheap in the US, but in denmark that stuff would be around 40 bucks fot the large parts. manometer would be another 20 bucks. the hose would be another 20 bucks.

Pricey place here :(

Used hoses can be gotten for free-

+ check with any place that installs or repairs washers
+ keep an eye out when people set their machines on the curb
+ post on craigslist that you need one
