Hi all,

after getting the HBB Ceramic at a good price during my last visit to the rep dealer. I could not resist the North Pole GMT, so picked it up couple of days after. Here are some shot's (sorry about he crappy photo's). I've tried to highlight the blue face as much as possible as I've seen ppl discuss whether its blue or black. In certain lighting and angels its black/grey.

I have one of these......the blue face is stunning........Congrats!!!!!!

Also keep an eye on the bezle markers, I had 2 of the little square thingy's fall off the last time I wore mine.

Bezel's are hard to get. No way any dealer will get the bezel markers or numbers for you.

Hi triple-d,

looks awesome on the SS strap. Think I need to dismantle my Daylight SS strap. :p

Let me ask the dealer again the next time I see her about the markers. Becoz from my understanding, she can get all the bits for me in case it screws up. I'd need to double check with her becoz they always over promise and under deliver. If she can I'm guess your dealers should have no issues whatsoever to get them for you.

It's another show stoper, love this watch!

thx matt.

I think you guys will like it more when its on your wrists. I love the way its changes colors, sometime black/grey sometime blue. Its a solid piece and can't recommend it enough. Panerai's are really amazing, first you look at them and you fink, na, not my type, second time - hey looks pretty classic, third time - hey this panerai thing is really cool, fourth time - shite you become an addict. :p

You bought a couple of beauties their digi. :D

I think it's more a matter of dealers not wanting to go to the trouble. I have a 187 with markers missing, a 194, and the north pole. I was willing to buy whole new bezel's for all of them......just not enough profit for the effort the dealer's to mess with. I have stopped buying from the two dealers that I bought the watches from, and they are both considered reputable dealers.

BUT......YOUR WATCH IS AWSOME!!!!!! ENJOY!!!!! :D :D :D

@ digi.....that is very kind of you digi. :D

I would be willing to buy bezle's for the north pole, a 187, and a 194. It might make it more appealing to your dealer to sell 3 bezles. It woul also give me spare parts for the future!!

Hi triple-d,

I just marked them in the PDA:

1. North Pole
2. Pam Sub 1000
3. Pam Sub 2500

I'll let her know the models and get her to give us a quote. I'll time my next purchase with this so she will be more accommodating.

I'm fighting with myself whether to get:

1. Pam Ferrari Scuderia
2. IWC Coust Diver
3. Pam Flyback 1950
4. PP Nautilus

 Fingers crossed she can get them.

It seems that this version is not the updated one. It comes with wrong caseback, cape Articooky not Artichesky. Wrong bezel and weaker datemag. The updated version apparently comes with wrong dial colour so you'll be better off with updated 186GMT. Anyone knows whether blue dial version of the updated watch has been released?

Joshua told me that - contrary to what is said on the Panerai website - the production model of the North Pole has a black face.

It wouldn't be the first time that Panerai have shown a prototype on their site, then released a subtly different watch in production.

For instance.. the re-issued 249 is shown as having "California" on the dial. The production model doesn't have it.

For instance... The 212 is shown with a plain CG - but the production model is engraved "REG TM".

So - does anyone else handled a genuine North Pole? Was it blue or black?

Digi - Tsingtao at the Intercontinental next weekend? I'm buying. PM me.

(I'm buying = I'm on expenses. Hehehe)

I guessed the case back was wrong. I'm going to ask her to get me a correct though. hehehe.

I got it for a stealer of a price so pretty happy. New one is going for $3xx I got mine for a little over half that price running 28.8.

If the new one is good, I'll get one too. I'll take a look when clives in town.

You hv PM clive, lets go to SZ to do some rep shopping.

regarding the color, I've doubled via Paneristic website and looked at the 2007 price list and it states:

PAM 252 Luminor GMT North Pole , steel case,blue dial 44mm 7950 6400

why would they be so consistent in stating blue dial if its was really black?

Weird.

Bezel is also not accurate on this model. Weaker datemag, lacking of AR, mediocre lume, GMT hand with big pointer... this model is not accurate. You may want to get the new one, swap the dial, you'll have an excellent rep.

lume is great, the datemag is weak, GMT hand is a bit big, but I fail to see how the bezel is not right. here's a link to the real thing

I hope ppl aren't getting confused between the arktos and the north pole becoz sometimes ppl discuss them interchangably. They are used to celebrate 2 diff achievements of Mike Horn.

On this pic, its clearly displayed as blue. :?

Bezel is really not right. It's not "sloped" enough. And the markers are a bit too tall compared to genuine article. Please refer to updated 092,186 and 252. That's how the bezel should be. Lume is not excellent IMHO, perhaps you get newer dial/hands revision (they do this to reps too). You may refer here for lume:

thx. I think I did look at a new one but dealer wanted a much steeper price so I just picked the one that provided the best value for money I guess. I can't tell the diff on the bezel, but I'll look closely next time I'm in the rep mall again.
