Hey J, I get 56-60 hours on a full wind on my 127. That's about 2 days 8 hours. You don't have to wind it every night unless the power reserve on your watch is less.

Once You make it a ritual and wind it every day at the same time You either are able to wind it just before the stop or You know that x turns will be fine for another 24 hours.
As for automatic reps, I never wind them, specially if they are unserviced and they will run for more than 30 hours anyway, even if not on the wrist.

A watch is a mini machine with moving parts that wear out over time. I suggest winding your watch when you are wearing the watch every morning before you strap it to your wrist. When you are NOT wearing your watch for long periods suggest you wind it once a month.

When you wind it stop when you feel resistance. It may take up to 100 winds to feel that resistance depending of course how much the spring has wound down. If you wind past that resistance you will over wind and damage the movement. With any watch gen or rep handle them with great care. Rough handling can break the movement.

Thanks for the quick response.
just checking a few points

1)the correct way to fully wind it is till i feel the wheel stops , (not when the wheel starts to kick back but more.)?

2)in light of that study you FULLY wind it every night?

Jay

1. It will be obvious on 6497 movements when it's fully wound. You'll feel a very strong resistance and know not to force it any longer.

2. I prefer to fully wind every night, but that's just my preference.

If I'm wearing manual A6497 I use to wind them everyday before put them in the wrist
Wind it until you feel the resistance, you will notice it immediately and easily. First time do it slowly to take the experience
