Here is the watch I am putting together.
P1010151.jpg

I am totally new at this I found a post that helped me with the basics but these issues arn't really addressed. Aside from that I think its looking really good it lights up pretty nice in the dark.

Some of the problems I am having aside from loosing the parts are.

1.) The second hand won't stay in place. When its on its pressed tight up against the dial face.
2.) I had to trim the crown pin down see pic below, when you relase the crown its right up against the crown guard and I can't adjust the time.
3.) Now that i have the crown in place i cant loosen it to remove it. How do I get the crown/pin free

If you could direct me to some posts or tips on how to assemble these watches it would be appreicated.

not sure about your second hand problem..

what do you mean by crown pin? the stem?

anyway, you can just unscrew and remove the crownguard so that you can remove the crown properly.. but i dont think thats what you mean.

To remove the crown and stem, you need to unscrew the tiny screw on the back of the movement.. but you probably knew that as well.. I'm afraid im not sure what you are asking here?

Well I solved some problems and created some others.

I think I may have cut the crown stem down to much its works but its very selective when it clicks in place but its working. I still say the shaft for the second hand is much to short for the sandwich dial so I loctited it in place now its riding very close to the dial and it gets stuck. I was running 8 min slow over 12 hrs so I went to adjust it and an snapped the adjustment screw off. I think the lettering of Luminor is on the dial crooked too because I tried to rotate the dial and it did nothing . I am still remaining postive because this think looks super authentic much better then the last one I bought. Once I get this one all sorted out i think i might make one for every day of the week.

Here is a picture of my progress... I have to learn how to take good watch pics.

Very nice, you only forgot to sand and polish the cannon pin flat (the thing that holds the minute hand).
If you don´t want to take the second hand off again ( I guess you don´t want to) just remove the minute and hour hand, put a piece of paper over the dial for protection (small hole for the pin). So you can tke the whole movement to have good control while sanding. Use 400,then 800 grain sanding paper to get the pin flattened, only sand until it is flat, no more!
You can polish it by using a piece of paper which you rubb with chrome polish. Remove the chrome polish from the paper with a paper towel , then you can start polishin by pushing the pin carefully over the paper.
Never apply any presure on the pin during the whole procedure, the weight of the movement is well enough.
Now you should clean the pin carefully.
Then apply the hands and put the watch back together.
When installing the second hand a thick piece of paper with a cut-in line would be helpful for getting the second hand very close to the dial but keeping a safe distance to it.

You got my respect for doing things yourself. Good luck!
