I'm looking at getting a PAM 177h. This would be my first PAM rep and don't wish to spend $400 on Davidsen version, in unlikely event that I don't like PAMs. Who has the best version on this watch in $200 range?

I would still you strongly consider the modded version from DSN. If you pick it up and don't like it, you could flip it at a minimal loss, it'd be an easy sell. His quality is amazing and it offers enjoyment right out of the box. He also shipps with decent straps and a strap upgrade isn't required like on many of the other vendors models.

If not, for a few bucks more you could get a Swiss movement from EL, $274 shipped. If you really want to keep it at $200 or less, look at Joshua's or Andrews Asian movements.

The thing is, if you buy an asian movement for roughly $200 and like it you have two choices:
1) Dump it and start over with a Swiss version (if you care about the movement)
2) Start modding and pay roughly $200 for cannon pin fix and Lume job. You then are at $400 for a modded Asian movement.

If you aren't sure about the PAM thing, might I suggest the $110 Chinese Manual Movement 111h from Silix? It would be a good way to get your feet wet with PAM without jumping all the way in.

Thanks for the suggestions! I guess I will keep an eye out in the Trade/Sale sections for a Swiss 177h and pick up a cheap 111h to see if I like the look. I'm amazed by the quickness and knowledgeable responses.
Thanks,
Joe
