(Not sure how I like the sound of this tread title, but anyway...)

Gentlemen-

I'm looking to pick up my first Panerai- a 111m. I could use a little help with a couple questions.

Its rare that you see deployants on leather straps with any Panerai watches. Any idea why? I'm partial to this deployant but wanted to check on things before ordering. Do these not work well? Do they even fit leather bands? Any common problems with closing and locking?

I've honestly never heard a bad thing said about the 111m which is why I need to ask... What is bad about these watches? If something were to go bad on it, what would it be? It seems to me that a manual wind might have issues since the watch is constantly being manually wound. (Just my uneducated intuition.) I'd like to know the potential and common issues before ordering.

Thanks for your help, everyone.

I have a couple deployants like the one you pictured and they are fine. Personally I'm not a fan(of any deployant), but they seem pretty well made...

Thanks bigdeal. I appreciate the reply.

I know you have a lot of watches and I'm sure a lot of Panerais. Any thought on the manual wind movement in this one?

I'm far from a movement expert, but based on the ones I've had, and what I've read here, the manuals in these are pretty darn reliable...

I'm beginning to prefer the manual wind. Have no worries, this is a great watch.

I just got my first Pam 111 from an online sales and it came with a black rubber with the same deployment you show. It works awesome, and I have put it on several leather straps already. One thing you need to know is that the deployment is for straps that are 24mm at the lug and 22mm at the tip. Just make sure you buy leather straps as 24/22mm and you can use that deployment no problem.

As for the movement, so far, I haven't had one problem with it. It is about 1 sec fast a day over 1 week period. It is as good as my gen automatics. The good thing about the manual wind is that when it sits in the box, for a week, and you need to wear it, after winding it fires up immediately and is fully charged. The 111 is nice because you just need to set the time, no date. So I think you will come to love this feature during your watch rotation. I'm loving mine! Good luck!

Thanks all for the replies!

Thanks for the information, Tracyl. I'm glad you mentioned the deployant requiring 24/22mm straps. I didn't know that!

Tracyl- Which dealer did you buy your 111 from?

Thanks.

I didn't buy it from a dealer, got it from the sales section here. It was a H factory model, and very nice indeed. The CG lever is nice and tight with no flop and closes down tight. The movement looks just like the real movement with all the right plating. Just look in the sales section, as a lot of people sell 111's. Good luck!

Hi friend
The PAM111 form Noob is a very good replica. One of the best in the current rep market.
The manual winding mvmt is a very good thing because the mvmt is more reliable than the automatic one!! It is not a problem it is a solution !!

I have a lot of watches and PAMs and I have already bought one from Marvellous.

Believe me, the best advice:

Forget the analytic trend and the issues and then:
BUY the PAM111 from Noob and JUST ENJOY it !!

BTW: no problems with a deployant, it is a price problem, it is up to you

Bear in mind most straps are designed for a buckle and even if you get the right sized 24/22 the leather itself may be too thick for the deployment.

Thank you both very much for sharing your knowledge and experience. I'm completely new to PAMS. ...I think I have all the information I need. But, I'll be back to ask for your help with the QC pics! Can't wait.

Thanks!

I have one and I've had it for about 2 weeks and so far I absolutely love it. It's a great looking watch. And I do love how when you wind up the movement it's ready and it won't studded like automatics do and stop for a bit here and there before they're fully charged up! I love mine let me know what you think of yours!

Thanks! I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on this one!

BTW, how long does a full winding last? Do you need to wind it every day?

It lasts a decent amount of time. I wind it every other day in the morning and it's been good so far. Just wind it when you take it off and when you put it on and I doubt you'll have a problem!

Countit, that is gorgeous! I am in the market. If you don't mind my asking, where'd you get it from?

Thanks, Tim! I got very lucky getting this from MR before Noob went out of stock.

http://www.marvellousreplica.com/

BTW, if you're looking and see out of stock, don't get discouraged. It happened to me with this watch. It went out of stock and a couple weeks later, it was back in stock. I just kept checking MR's website and jumped when it came back in stock. Check in with MR by sending him an email. He'll get back to you quickly and give you a sense of the situation and when it will be back.

(Not sure of status with other dealers. MR does not create inventory. He uses just in time inventory- he buys when you buy.)
