Been lurking a bit and finally pulled the trigger on a DSN 111h.
BTW, lots of great reading and photography here.
Just curious, what is the usual travel time from HK to CONUS and possibly more exactly, Florida?

I am really looking forward to this gem, just wondering when I can ramp up the excitement. ;-)

Thanks
Bob

You'll do best to tell yourself 2 weeks from the date of shipment. It usually won't take that long, but prepare for the worst and then (hopefully) be pleasantly suprised.

Same for me ... just paid DSN today .. I kinda wanted it for next week so I added the EMS shipping. Let's see how long it takes!

My experience with EMS tells me that average shipping with EMS is usually 7 days from shipment.

Registered airmail, on the other hand, some I received as quickly as 7 days, most of them after 14 days, and then there's a few that arrive after 21 days.

All right thanks.

I have ordered or purchased watches from forummers on another forum before, so I am familiar with the wait, but I have never ordered from HK. It is kinda fun to have an idea of time and enjoy the waiting game, and the "gee, I wonder if it is in the mailbox today". I am sure that is a very common thing here. This will most likely be my longest wait. I am trying to be patient.

In the mean time I have this DIY custom dial I hand-made to look at while waiting for a sandwich dialed beauty.
It is on a no-name Sears watch shop thick leather strap, that is surprisingly nice.

Well you picked one fine watch to start with. Its probably going to be in the area of 2 weeks as previously stated. Thats been my experience with Davidsen. Be patient and you'll be thrilled when the little pink slip shows up your mailbox. I think the 111 is one of the most versatile watches you can get. You can change the look with different straps and make it look bad to the bone with stainless. This is one watch I'd spend 4g for, for a gen.

Congratulations on a great watch. My experience has been 7 to 9 days from China with EMS. That is date shipped to my door. I'm on the east coast as well. I have heard of longer waits though . . . think I've been lucky so far. Best of luck, hope it comes soon.

I'm playing the waiting game too! I just paid today, for a 111h package. I bought a TT Sub from Josh a few months ago, it took about 3wks to get here. It was in customs forever.

I was way too impatient the last time, I'm pretty chilled this time. Kind of like planting a seed, it will pop when it gets here.

I'm going to get a strap in the meantime, maybe it will show up first!

Three weeks! Pie-yow! That is some serious time.

I am now definitely going into the chill mode and just figure each day that goes by is a day closer to the surprise. I like the strap idea.

That makes me think of something else, how are the DSN straps?

I don't know about the DSN straps. The pics look ok. I'm going to try one from Savage, I've heard good things about his.

I get my DSN packages usually in about 3-4 days EMS.

I'm in Southern California.

chinkiechunkie, 3-4 days. Wow that is indeed fast.

I did check with the tracking and the package is in-country, so it is up to customs to get it moving, I guess.
