Noob 127 Micrometer screw missing. And I’m not the only one.

So seedeetee has a 127 for sale in the M2M area and down_under pointed out that the micrometer screw is missing. Considering it’s the same model and batch as one I own, I checked mine and sure enough... no micrometer screw. So I went back to my QC pic and sure enough... it’s there.

I haven’t taken off the caseback yet. But in that thread several people commented that they too are missing the screw. Which is weird. Multiple watches with the same problem. But best I can tell from looking through the clear case back, the screw isn’t in there. I’m wondering what the larger issue is that’s causing this issue in multiple watches.

Thank you rwi (down under) for the good eye in catching this in the first place.

The first pic is the original qc pic taken or received August 16th and I received the watch August 22nd. The third was just taken now. September 6th. This is an interesting phenomenon.

The order of the pictures changed from how it was posted. The original qc pic is last.

Nevermind. I found it. But the question of why it’s falling out of multiple watches still remains.

Its a common problems... it’s the first thing I look for when I see an A6497 movement Panerai.
Seems to be quite frequent amongst the Noob Panerai with A6497 y-incabloc version.
What I normally do upon receiving the watch is send it to my watchsmith who then loctite it and reshape the swan neck regulator to be tight with the screw.

I’ll take some photos for you when I get back home. Which is a few days away haha.

Got the same issue on my PAM 111 which I've had for a week. The screw hasn't fallen out yet, but is about to. I've stopped wearing it and am letting it wind down.

If I remove the back and get some thread locker on the screw, is this easy to do? Or would I need to remove the whole movement from the case (which I don't really want to do myselft).

A while ago, I saw someone selling a Panerai with a 3D printed tool of a caseback opener. It was just a 3D printed cup that fit around the caseback like a socket. Anyone have any idea where I can find the plans for this? I’d love to print one up.

eta I found the old thread but the links are gone.

down_under she is sitting pretty on the wrist, with the micrometric screw firmly in place.

When I figure out how to upload a pic I will do so

I'll have a go and no doubt screw it up!
Bad pun intended.
