Peters work is top notch but I wouldn't call that a "Jules Verne" or "JV" because it's not. It's simply a beautiful Nubuck Gator. Only Panerai makes a JV...

Is there a fundamental difference between these and the JV straps made my Panerai? I'll admit that it's not truly a JV, but isn't still a JV style?

There is a fundamental difference, that Peter makes better quality and hand-made straps ;-)) I would never buy an OEM for that price difference.... Peter has stunning OEM like, better quality and custom made straps!

Totally agree..... Calling it a JV is more of a put down to the strap you have!!!

Ha, I appreciate it guys, but the JV nubuck straps are on instance where I'm inclined to say, from what I've read, that OEM is actually the best. And really, OEM in general are pretty damn good, and better than what I've seen from a lot of the custom makers. They're not handcrafted, but the patterns and tanning on some of the straps I saw and tried on at the AD this weekend have changed my mind about the value of OEM straps.

I have a Peter watch jv that I will likely be selling at some point soon
Great strap and does age better than the oem jv but oem jv may he the best strap ever made by any strap maker in the world - it is that good hence the high price and strong resale value -
