I wanted to share my experience with Trustytime with Andrew who is somewhat less talked about here it seems. Not sure what's up with the 2008 posts above. After discovering this forum and reading up I have since purchased a Patek Philippe 24, a Cartier ballon bleu ladies, a Rolex GMT 2, a Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso 1931 as well as a Patek Philippe Calatrava. A round female Patek Philippe and a Parmigiani Fleurier Forma were not available anymore and I could replace them without price change the Cartier and Reverso both of which would have cost more than the original order but without an increased charge. That was very nice and I am excited about the substitution.
The correspondence with Andrew at Trusty Time was dazzlingly fast, often within minutes. He advised on wait time and watch factory selection.
The quality control images were high resolution and I spotted a tiny flaw at the end of digit “2†that was polished away within 48 hours. Except the Patek that has imitation diamonds, all watches are very high quality from clasp to watch and are breathtakingly accurate in size, perfection with attention to detail and weight. Having seen the originals it is outright disconcerting that they are indiscernible at arms length yet so much more expensive. The automatic movements in the Cartier is very quiet and vibration free. The Rolex GMT 2 is also very quiet. Only winding and adjusting creates friction sounds that made me, a beginner, concerned that I had broken something. Apparently, that was not the case.
The transfer with PayPal was straightforward and very reassuring with their “money back for 2 weeks after delivery†policy. It is nice not to have to give out your credit card number when ordering something in China.
Andrew also advised me about the watch market in Guangzhou for a China visit of mine but it became quickly clear that these watches are a tier below of what can be purchased online because those customers are more demanding.
