I had read somewhere in the forum where lubrication can help with a noisy rotor, so I tried using a very light
synthetic bearing oil that a friend sent for me to try out on my old Ariston turntable.
The disclaimer is I am NOT a watch smith, and you should be using a watch oil, I'm sure..
but the result is the point here, and it was fantastic.
The rotor freewheels much less, and it is MUCH quieter. I'm surprised that it freewheels LESS when it's lubricated…
still trying to figure that one out
Highly recommend to have your reps serviced and lubricated, if possible.
