Hi

I just got a new jf pam1312 s zf a7750. Very happy with the look of it, but it does make a bit of noise. Being a noob to replicas I was wondering if anyone could tell me if this is normal. I appreciate there will be quite some rotor noise, especially when moving it quickly, and this might to some extent be improved by lubricating the rotor bearing, but there is another noise which seems to happen more often that's really bothering me. Whenever I move/rotate the watch in a certain direction there is a clicking noise kind of like when winding it but slightly quicker and loader, almost like the sound of a tiny screw rattling. I suspect it's the rotor starting to wind the watch, hence only happening when the rotor moves in one direction and not the other. I was womdering if this is normal. I'd really appreciate if someone more knowledgeable than me could chime in with their thoughts. Many thanks.

teddy, thanks for responding. gah! been trying to get it to record on phone for last 10mins but the mike doesn't seem to be able to pick it up properly I think the pitch is too high for the mike or something. What I can say is that it sounds like a watch being wound, its definitely audible from within 3 feet of the watch, but probably not beyond, and it only happens when the rotor is turning clockwise and not when its turning anti-clockwise. Is that normal?

Well, the 7750 in unidirectional wind, so one direction you will hear a ratchet sound and the other the rotor will free spin. Sometimes the watch will even wobble slightly as it free spins. That is normal and in some cases can be heard from a foot or two away. In my experience having it serviced will significantly quite it. My Daytona and Tag are both almost inaudible unless you are within a foot. They were both serviced. If you cannot get a video, I can take one when I get home and upload it.

Ok. Thanks, I'd appreciate that. Mike on my phone would only pick up the wobbly rotor noise although the ratchet noise seems to be almost as loud. Do you know how I go about getting it serviced? I'm in London. Everything I read says watchsmiths generally won't touch reps and I'm not keen to send it off to Europe or US for a service.

Thanks again Teddy, appreciate it. Hard to tell from the vid if mine is worse. Think I'll try and get it serviced and see if that makes a difference.

Got the same watch and my rotor songs like it's on magnets! I know what you mean......I've sent mine to Rolie for a part service and he is dropping some thick lubricant on the rotor bearings to slow and quiet it down
