NH35 Movements in Reps

So I was browsing DHGate and I found some reps with NH35 movements, mostly Tudors but also some TAG, AP and some Omegas with NH36.

The prices are similar to watches with 2813 movements.

Unfortunately there are very few reviews, so it doesn't look like anyone has opened one up yet to see what's actually inside.

It would be good to hear if any forum members have any experience of these watches yet.

I’d love to find some rep dials that fit the nh35 natively.
that said the seiko is a 21.6k movement which is less desirable.

Well if you search NH35 (or NH36) on DHGate you get some interesting results.

The watches are cheap enough to buy just for the dials (and other parts).

Whether or not these watches contain actual Seiko NH35s remains to be seen.

It appears to be a recent phenomenon and it will be interesting to see if they start to appear on TDs websites.

This seller shows blurry pictures of what appears to be a decorated NH35 movement.

I know a lot of people poo-poo seiko movements for a variety of reasons. The reality is they are relatively inexpensive, but also run for ever without a service.

I, for one, have no issue what so ever with Seiko movements. They run for ever and keep decent time. I have have a half a dozen Seiko divers and they all keep reasonably good time. The one I wear the most is a 62Mas sbdc051 and it is almost +/-0s/ week

In true DHGate style that Rolex has vanished.

If you search their site for NH35 there are plenty of Tudors.

Whether or not you'd actually receive a watch with a Seiko NH35 movement remains to be seen.

The lack of reviews doesn't fill me with confidence. It really needs some brave person to buy one and open it up, take pictures and post a review.

None of them will contain a NH35/36, it's 2813 shitters all the way down. This is what I received.

You won't even get a proper refund for it when you wouldn't have ordered one if you knew it was a 2813 in the first place. Speaking from experience here when I was a complete noob and didn't know of RWI.

Ended up going back and forth with DHShitgate customer support and just ending up charging back and never using the site again.

I just ordered an nh35 based watch from eBay from a seller we discuss here as well as a 2183 Based watch from jason007. We will see what shows up. I have a bunch of mods coming from raffles as well as the higher end seiko mod sites.
the problem is that raff’s doesn’t have nh35 dials or hands.
Also, considering that most of this is hobby level work that will sit in the box, I’ve convinced myself that the 2813 is just fine. I’ve tried to find a high beat 2183 but have had no luck.
If I wanted more quality the st16 seems to fit just fine bs regular 2813 and also seems to be well made.

I’ll post picks once everything arrives in mid August.

Well, as our American friends would say, it's a crap shoot.

I have some watches with a 2813 movement that I've had for years and still work fine.

I've had others that have been pretty rubbish from day one.

None of them have had great time keeping, losing or gaining up to a minute a day. I change watches often, so not really a problem.

Some have good power reserve, some don't.

I think I'm right in saying that this movement is manufactured in different Chinese factories, some better that others.

I think if you have a watch you really like but with a dodgy 2813 movement then you could probably do a lot worse than swap it out with one from CousinsUK, for not a lot of money. I assume they only supply the good ones.

Thanks for your input, funny too :)

May I ask how long ago was this?

If you do get a dg2813 that winds up crapping out you can always just replace the movement. Those movement are about $30 shipped Conus. I have done it and I am no watchsmith. It has been a while as once I discovered this site 4 yrs ago I quit picking up watches with that movement in them

Hello,
would it be possible to make watches like Rolex with Sellita movement ? On Puretimewatch there are Classic fusion with Sellita sw300 for a few days. But when I asked if it was real, they told me they didn't have this watch...

The sw300 is a “clone” of the eta 2893-x

the 2983 isn’t really related to the Rolex gmt 3186 or 3285.

you can make anything you want if you can make it fit, but it isn’t necessarily a drop in replacement.
