Newbie to the Rep Game Deciding between the 111 N V3 and 005 N V2

Newbie to the Rep game here.

I've had an interest in PAMs for awhile now, but after realizing the price of them I gave up on the dream of owning one:facepalm:- however when I found out about the amazing reps available I nearly started panting like a dog waiting for a treat. :jc:

I've been doing a lot of research on the forum- looking through the PAM guide and at threads throughout the site- and I've narrowed my first purchase down to two SuperReps with the classic and versatile style I'm looking for. Basically I'm hoping for some insight into which would be the best rep for me to pull the trigger on for my first purchase: the PAM111 (Noob) V3, or the PAM005 (Noob) V2.

Yes get a 111 V3 from a trusted dealer here and ship it of to marlin for mods and you will have a rep that looks and feel like a gen.

The 111 V3 itself does not necessarily require to be modded
its a true super rep already and wont disappoint for those who have it in their wrist


overall quality is already "who-knows?" , those who knows might be either rwi member
the strap is the one who need to be modded,
throw away the rep leather strap LOL.

Yeah- that was my idea exactly- I'm a huge baseball guy and came across some straps made from old baseball gloves on PAMs. I definitely plan on purchasing one, in addition to a few others.

One of my favorite things about PAMs is the option to completely change the feel of the watch by just changing the strap. I haven't even purchased the watch yet and have a few straps in mind once I do.:thumbsup:

The choice will depend on the flaws you are willing to live
-Case, Crown and crystal will be the same with the same pros and the same cons
-PAM 111 Noob V3 has display caseback and you will be able to see all the flaws of the movement.
-PAM 005 V2, since has sausage dial will get all the flaws of lume application own of rep sausage dials.

Im pretty new too and I recently got the Noob111v3 without modding and I'm really happy about it! (Got an OEM Asso to go with it too)

Get the fiver. Closed caseback and no need to mod anything. Just beat it up!

You are just in the right time to get the Noob 127, go grab it before it is OOS again. Otherwise, either one of your choice is a fantastic rep, get whichever you like more.

Now matter how good you mod the 111, the engraving op Officine Panerai on the bridge is always a tell because of the distance between paner ai. So Incabloc, MS screw mods etcetera are not neccesary in my opinion. The open caseback will always tell with the flawed engravement.

Just enjoy the superb overall quality of the 111, the tells are only for experts, they will see it no matter what.

Get the 111. Great starter watch, don't worry about the open case back. Nobody's gonna ask you to remove the watch from your wrist.

My vote goes to the 005N V2. I have one and its an incredible piece and no need to worry about the open caseback. Plus the new V2 has the correct OPXI movement thats platinum plated and has the decorated baseplate.
