I've just completed the purchase of my first rep a Submariner Black 40mm 116610 LN.
I tried to glean as much information as possible before the purchase though reading the forums as oppose to blindly asking questions that have already been asked a thousand times before.
Quality was king for me and I was happy to wait to get the best product.
With this in mind there was one TD whose name crept up over and over again... Lucy.
So despite warnings that she was not the ideal choice for a first time buyer I threw caution to the wind and committed, with the knowledge that it would likely not be a quick turn around.
I emailed Lucy to enquire about my desired choice of watch. She responded within 24hrs with great advice on best factories and a rough idea of timings on how long it would take to aquire. This info matched other information I'd previously read in a number of forums which was reassuring.
I committed to sending Lucy the money via wise, it was all made very simple with an email that broke the process down step by step.
Lucy then suggested due to the popularity of the watch she may be able to get QC pics in a couple of days.
This didn't transpire for a host of reasons including issues personel to Lucy, a watch being rejected by Lucy due to quality issues and raids on a few factories.
I did chase Lucy after a couple of weeks just because QC pics within days had been mentioned. Anyway she reassured me the job was in hand and I resorted back to the time frame I'd initially had in my head of the whole process taking around 2 and half to 3 months.
Good enough about 2 months after payment Lucy explained the delay and sent over some QC pics.
Had it not been for her personal circumstances (surgery). I would have likely received them a month earlier.
I compared the QC pics to pics I'd seen on other forums to try and identify potencial flaws but nothing of major concern jumped out. In fact nothing jumped out at all!
I green lighted the purchase and 10-12 days later the watch was in hand.
Absolutely superb. No detail from the Gen has been sparred by the VSF factory. It really is a show stopper.
In conclusion to the long tale, that'll probably be read by about 3 newbies in total, Lucy is absolutely great and the quality of the product is exceptional.
If you have the patience and are willing to trust the system, there's no reason why a newbie shouldnt use Lucy to make their first purchase.
Have a time frame of about 2 to 3 months turnaround in your head from the off, if you get your watch earlier, great, if nothing after that period I think your more than entitled to request an update which I'm sure Lucy would happily do.
As stated I'm a complete noob myself, and was just giving a quick update to all with the hope it helps a few people out as other threads did me in the build up to my purchase.
