Hi! I discovered RWI almost a year ago and purchased my first rep less than a month ago.
I was in a restaurant last night and all I saw were Daytonas, AP ROs, Breitlings, and Cartiers. Previously, I was oblivious to the amount of money people around me had to afford those watches. After more thought, I wondered how many of them (mostly men) were wearing reps?
I was wearing my SS Cartier rep and felt a bit cheap, but then a woman next to me was wearing (what I suspected) the exact gen of my watch. I discreetly compared our watches and literally couldn’t tell the difference. In that moment, I felt good. We had the same look but my watch probably cost a lot less (unless she was wearing a rep too
).
I’ve never been questioned about my rep watch or told anyone I got it, but I did catch a friend gawking with her mouth open when she saw it. I’ve had multiple gen watches and designer jewelry and clothes from my employment working in luxury/fashion industry so most people, including close friends and family assume everything I wear is authentic. I will never wear a rep that costs more than 10K retail. I’m not a multimillionaire but rest assured when I become one, I will still add reps to my gen collection. Thanks for reading.
