newbie and cant decide on this rep u boat

hello to all, i'm new this forum and i have been longing to buy this particular u boat replica but cant seem to decide. i live here in the philippines and you can say i love collecting watches. nway, here are some pics of the watch

the seller says that it has a asian movement, chinese for sure but what kind? it also water resistant but i doubt it so i plan to make it as water proof as posisible. actually i already bought all sorts of watch repair tools. i love to tinker .
please help me decide if its a good buy . also it cost around $60.00 shipment included.

Hi nuj, welcome to the forum. I couldn't see the watch you want on the U-boat website, but I believe it is the "left hook" version. I.e. this:

When comparing these photos to the replica you have posted, there are enormous differences.

Whilst I am no U-boat expert, there has been some discussion of the accuracy of the various models previously on the forum, such as this discussion:

I would seriously consider using another dealer, but that is up to you. The mods here can't help you if you don't use one of the Trusted dealers. One of the models suggested in that thread is the U42. One of our trusted dealers has the model listed on their website here:

Here the movement is identifiable, reliable and easily fixable. Just make sure that the dealer you choose has it in stock first!

i too noticed the difference but what can i expect from a $60.00 replica watch . compare to the prices that i've seen from our vendor here in the forum, its really way out. maybe the vendor is from a different manufacturing plant . i usually encounter this in our military arms made in china wherein the same model but different company and quality differs also.
i will give this one enough time for me to think and will follow you advice. thanks again Lelouch and glad4817.
