Puretime have listed a ZF PAM1392 in addition to the V6F that had been around for a while. The ZF is $50 more and features a 7750 insteas of 23J movement.
From a fit and finish point of view does anyone know which might be better quality? Seems hard to find any user reviews on 1392 reps.

The ZF version just came out, I doubt many would have already purchased it. From an accuracy point of view, the ZF version is more accurate in the movement area as the A7750 it is using has the balance wheel in the same location @11 as the gen P.9010. However, it does not look like it has the correct case as the one being used by the V6F version which has the longer and slimmer lugs. But from a wearing point of view, the lug shape will be visible while the movement is hidden unless you remove the watch from your wrist. So currently I would still recommend the V6F version. Confirm with your TD regarding the ZF lugs, maybe the pictures are from a pre-production piece which may have been corrected.

@mysterio do u know what the lug width for the 1392 is? Is it the same as the 1312? I know there are a lot of 44mm Pam models out there and i assume there are a lot of aftermarket straps that will fit 44mm watches. Wondering if it would be less variety for the 42mm pams.

The lug width for the PAM1392 is the same as its thicker cousin the PAM392. It's 22mm. There are also a lot of 22mm straps in the aftermarket space as not only Panerai uses 22mm straps. ;)

42mm are 22mm

44mm panerai watches std straps are 24 at lug n 22 buckle.

47mm panerai are std 26/22 except radiomir are 27/22.

However certain model does come in 26/26 n 24/24 strap profile.

Hope these clear any doubt.

That is the strap I would like but seriously, $50 for a rep rubber strap? I don't care how good quality it is I can't help feeling slightly ripped off.

You can purchase the gen caoutchouc rubber strap for $200.

My point is that Pan can "justify" huge mark ups because of their branding, but when buying a rep that is certainly priced so much above cost, it is hard to swallow.

Let me make it more palatable for you. $200 will get you an OEM rubber strap. Period. Getting an OEM deployment buckle is probably another $250. The one in puretime is a signed rep rubber strap AND a signed deployment buckle for $50. Rep deployment buckles alone cost $30 - $35 (and I don't know if the 20mm signed deploys are even common). So the strap is what, $15?

Anyway, that strap was released more than 6 years ago so probably no longer available. Try to find a rubber strap on Ebay, even if it wasn't made for a PAM as long as it's 22x20mm you should be fine.

When you put it like that I feel like ordering it straight away! The only thing stopping me is I'm still waiting for my first panerai to arrive. The bank transfer payment has still not gone through after 3 weeks.

@mysterio thanks for the explanation. You're such a valuable member on the Panerai (and all of RWI) forums.

That PT link is pretty old for sure. Is the deployant buckle common with the panerai straps? I normally see the tang buckle mostly sold on TD websites...
