being financially responsible builds character for the kids. Buy the gen, and give your kids the opportunity to build character for themselves... it will be golden life lesson.

I came along in Canada and went to a great university (Queens) and paid my own way. The canadian system rocks.
If you want to go to Stanford, you either need a full ride or a rich daddy. Taking on 100k in debt will grow you some character - but it might be the kind of character that has you turning tricks for $$$'s!
